MY16 software update

I'm lead to believe there is a new MY16 infotainment revision which more than likely uses the existing screen. Do you think it could be a case of a software update to upgrade our rather clunky system to the new better one?<br>

I just had mine back from the dealer yesterday and asked about a firmware update to the system and they told me that none were available?<div><br></div><div>Mine is a over a year old now and I am sure I read on here that there were updates available but apparently not :(</div><div><br></div><div>Jagman</div>

I bet there could be. Knowing a little about software, I reckon they won't update them because they can say No, not because they can't.

I certainly know there is an update because I have the original older 15 model. They newer models are coming up with new graphics and layouts etc, So there is a newer version of the software but I do wonder why they would withhold it from me... Might try another dealer and see if they can do it.<div><br></div><div>Jagman</div>

For the MY16 model the hard ware is different too, so I would not be surprised if there will never be any upgrade to the MY15 models.

I've heard that the new models are mapped to be quieter on start up (May be wrong on that one but worth checking). I DONT want that software upgrade if that's the case!

Any update on this? I had a MY16 as a loaner and the software is prettier but not functionally much different. The only material difference I could see was that tyre pressures are visible on the main screen and all the time (rather than just with engine off).<div><br></div><div>Looked like the same screen and dash to me. If they're not offering an upgrade I think it's likely to be because of the cost of testing on all of the back model hardware.</div>

I have a MY16 and the tyre pressures can be viewed whilst driving. I don't think the exhaust has been quietened on start up, as mine is very loud for the first minute until the vacuum builds, The XF loaner I had briefly had the previous interface, which looked to me like it had all the same functions, but without the bit that can load apps, that has been added for MY16.

<div><br></div><div>On earlier cars you can only view from the Vehicle Info screen on the dash with the engine off. Totally useless IMO as it would be nice to know if your tyres are up to pressure (ie warm) when you're driving rather than parked!! Lol!</div>

So I talked to a dealer about this - the MY16 cars with the upgraded Meridian sound system (770w) were not compatible with the newer generation incontrol system so have incontrol touch plus (older style) systems installed. Mine is an MY16 R with the upgraded Meridian and has the older system. The 380W Meridian system is compatible with the newer incontrol setup. The dealer was saying he thinks they still haven't found the solution to this so might be in the MY17 cars as well.
