Michelin Pilot 4S

I decided to bite the bullet and order a set of Michelin Pilot 4S tyres for my 2015 F-Type R Coupe RWD. The rear tyres are on back order, I am told they will arrive later this week, once fitted I will report back with my findings!

Meanwhile I will have a full set of Pirellis' less than half worn, in perfect condition no repairs or bulges. Fronts 295/30 R20 & Rears 255/35 R20. Any opinions as to value and how to sell them? It would be a dreadful shame not find them a good home.

Good luck with the sale Myer.

...and sorry, couldn't resist - have you tried swapping the Pirellis front to back???

I paid £179 for a pair of rear Continentals with 6mm tread. New tyres have around 7mm, so if yours have 4mm work it out for yourself.
E-Bay is your friend but they are bulky so you may want pick-up only which narrows the buyers down considerably. Its a case of you just wanting shut & somebody taking them off your hands so start the auction low. Good luck.

Thanks for the advice it is much appreciated.
The Pirellis' are in excellent condition with even wear and around 4.5mm of tread all round, so I just want to find a good home!

I have a full set of P zeros if anyone is interested . .car only covered 1400 miles

please send me a pm if interested . good fair price to a forum member

Hello

front - 245 / 40 / 19

Rear - 275 / 35 / 19

Just had the Michelin Pilot 4S fitted to my R Coupe, wow what a transformation! A different car the traction from the rear wheels is incredible, with the Pirellis the rear end was all over the place on heavy acceleration. The Pilot 4S makes it feel like 4wd, the Pirellis are scary to the point of being dangerous on a car that is putting our 550bhp to the rear wheels.

I knew you’d like them - they’re night and day :)

Hello

very tempted with this ... do they really make that much difference when compared to the P Zero's ? looking at the posts it looks like it does

I was sold on buying these, still am really, but have been reading reports from people saying the wear rate is very high? Suppose that makes sense, more grip is often down to softer rubber, softer rubber equal higher wear rates?

softer rubber better ride etc etc ... that's ok

There is nothing to think about it transforms the car the traction is incredible, it feels so much more sure footed. No wonder they are a standard fitment on the new range of Ferraris.

A lot will depend on your driving style and usage ... I run AD08's on another car that are also considered to have a high wear rate, yet 10k miles on them and style a good even tread all round on a mid-engined rwd ... I would take grip over wear every time ...

Talking of which, exited a roundabout this morning on the way to the gym and the pussycat went very sideways!
SHMBO was not impressed, but I hadn't even kicked down - teach me to be in auto for once in my ownership.
Guess that's cold tyres for you, but std. traction control must be quite liberal - note for future :)

So came home and researched winter tyres - came to the conclusion that wide hard lumps of rubber are probably not a great advantage.

Went to check the tyre spec. and noticed they're almost down to the bars in about 7k miles - hmm ForceContacts were great fun (clearly) and the dealer said they fitted them when I refused P Zeros as they had to be a Jag spec. tyre on an Approved Used car.

Can't afford that sort of cost per mile though so will be heading for a pair of 4S real soon.
Best bit is my local dealer just down the road has them online at £280 which means he'll be getting my custom.
