Hello members

Just thought I would throw this out there for debate

https://www.mgcyberster.co.uk/

Looks a great looking roadster but still £60k ... plus does an all-electric drivetrain really suit an open top roadster
Thoughts

all the best

I used to have an MGF, but i refuse to buy ANY Chinese car - they should be taxed out of existence by the UK gov

its an unfair market cheap labour, copied designs etc

I’m an old MG fan and still have one, this looks good but….. a long way to go before it is good. So before anyone else says it “probably already a bit like an MG” 🤭

I saw one at a car meet a few months ago. Thought it looked decent from some angles, awkward and cheap from others.

The idea of an electric sports car just feels like an oxymoron to me though, and the MG brand seems disingenuous and hollow now.

Personally I wouldn't even consider it at £30k, let alone £60k.

They look ok in the photos but the black upper treatment doesn’t disguise the size in the flesh.
Electric door trick soon gets tired - especially when it’s raining hard!
Dual motor can’t cope with poor body control, so single motor is the only sensible choice if you really feel the urge.

Like it or not the Chinese owned state company SAIC are smart to have purchased basically just a famous brand name and in one stroke can put 100 years of history on the bonnet of their cheap entry level cars. Last stat I saw was 9.4% UK market share, just behind Tesla..
It's really helping them globally and this is just a natural progression to have a halo model in the market.

Not for me, but I'm sure it'll sell well in its limited sector and will no doubt justify even more EV purchases by folks. Just look what happened in 2006 when Tesla slung a battery underneath a Lotus Elise and have now sold over 7m EV's...

I noticed they have just released pictures of the coupe version - looks like a bit of a copy of the F-type
