hi fellas , had my 2014 v6s on 60k for a year now and I 'd like to know if or when it was done , I had it serviced at stratstone and asked them about it and they said it would have been done if it was on the service schedule but couldnt confirm , so i 'm none the wiser they were pretty crap and expensive so wont be going back to them again , does anyone know the diff maintenance schedule , I've heard its the weakest mechanical link in the car so would like to do all i can to protect it ...... thanks for your shared knowledge guys

thanks gasgas, I just found out jag dont do it till 9 years or 120,000 miles , so definitely gonna get it done now cheers

If you go to https://osh.jaguar.com and enter your VIN you will your online service history.

If you then click on servicing tab at the top you can select any of the first 10 service requirements and click submit and it will tell you what needs doing and when.

For my V6 the diff oil needs changing every 4 years or 64000 miles.

When mine has been serviced I have asked that they put in the notes all work that was undertaken.

Hope that helps.

I just put my VIN in and the differential oil is not listed or due until 144000 miles, surely there must be a mistake!!!

For my MY18 V8R AWD the rear diff is due every 4 years, front diff every 9 years, and the transfer box every 3 years.

Mine says - MY18 V6-400 Sport - AWD:

1yrs - oil
2yrs - oil + air filter
3yrs - oil + brake fluid + transfer oil
4yrs - oil + air filter + rear diff oil
5yrs - oil + spark plugs
6yrs - oil + air filter + brake fluid + transfer oil
7yrs - oil
8yrs - oil + air filter + rear diff oil
9yrs - oil + brake fluid + transfer oil + automatic transmission oil and filter + supercharger drive belt + front accessory drive belt + front diff oil
10yrs - oil + air filter + spark plugs + engine coolant

So
- brake fluid and transfer box every 3 years
- rear diff oil every 4 years
- spark plugs every 5 years
- front diff oil, bets and transmission every 9 years
- engine coolant every 10 years

Might sell just before 9yrs old LOL

Mine was due at 4yrs/64000 miles, although I think Jaguar have brought it forward to this within the last few years. Although my car (MY16, 32,000miles) has, to date, been serviced at a main dealer, the diff oil was not changed at the annual service until I pointed it out and had to go back to have it completed. Although the oil was black it seemed otherwise ok. However, after the change, engagement of Drive/Reverse was much smoother. For all it costs, from now on, I'll probably be changing it every couple of years.
