In my MY18 I just got a Warranty handbook - no p;lace to record such information.

Same with mine; no such handbook, just the warranty booklet.

There is a note, at around page 260 of the 300 page manual which helpfully recommends you keep a ‘separate note’ of your adaptor key code.
But, by the time most owners get to read page 260, they’ve already mislaid their locking nut key :?

Looks like things are going backwards as usual lol.

If Tom Sawyer hasn't made a separate note of the locking wheel nut adapter code and doesn't have a booklet showing it, he can just pop into his Jag main dealer and they should have a full set of master keys/adapters which they'll use to determine the correct one for his car. A new locking wheel nut adapter is priced between £10 - £30.

Failing this, and once he's managed to get someone to remove the nut, he also has the option of purchasing a new locking wheel nut kit as shown in the link I provided earlier.

Or buy 4 ordinary nuts and replace the locking ones - does anyone steal Jaaaag alloys these days?

Alloy wheel theft is still common these days....personally I wouldn’t be prepared to take the risk of having no locking wheel nuts on my cars.

Could go to Breakfast club at Gaydon and be like Cinderella, to see who's locknut fits. Or visit a dealer.

There's approximately 20 different types of Jaguar locking wheel nuts for the 'F'.

A main dealer is probably the best option as mentioned earlier.

I have no desire to sound pedantic over this, especially to an esteemed and worthy contributor but this is not my recent experience.

Jaguar dealer wanted minimum £220 to….. wait for it….. use their spare set of master keys to unbolt my nuts, then charge me an additional £120 for a new set of lock nuts, plus 30-minutes fitting (maybe another £100??? Inc VAT) to send me on my way.

I’d love to know which dealer would only charge a measly £30 ??

Daylight robbery. Or taking the proverbial? I found it disgusting, shameful and saddening for a Jaguar dealer to be doing that. And that was the dealer I bought the car from less than ten months ago.

That is very poor service from your main dealer, especially as you bought the car off them earlier this year!

I spoke with my Jag main dealer yesterday (located in South West UK), hence the information I provided which is 100% accurate and there is no charge for a technician to use their master keys/adapters to determine which locking wheel nut adapter fits the car.

Time for you to think about changing dealerships!

Thanks everyone for the advice, really appreciated

RPSN, you’re spot on, I’ve got the booklet and thankfully someone has put the code in, looks like it’s available from Rimmer Bros for just under £12

Believe me, I was gobsmacked… they’re a group of a handful of JLR outlets across northern England.
Three out of the last four Jaguars purchased from them. All cars serviced by them, too. Twelve years of aggregated ownership and all cars serviced by them - I must look a soft touch?

They’ve done themselves no favours at all.

Can't see you buying another vehicle from them! :x

If you look at the photo, I can’t even get it into the wheel aperture, never mind onto the actual nut, to be honest as soon as I opened it, I thought it looked bigger than the original

Sod's law!

If you don’t get any joy with Rimmer Bros (I assume that’s where you ordered it from), at least you know the main dealer can sort if for you. If that's what you decide to do, hopefully they’ll be as accommodating as my Jag dealership?.....https://www.ftypeforums.co.uk/viewtopic.php?p=67714#p67714

Got Inchcape and Hatfields within 30 miles of me, hopefully one of them can help………..for a reasonable price

Good luck with that 👍

So had the offending nuts removed and new ones fitted by Hatfields in Sheffield for £36

Can't fault it!....Is that for 4 new normal wheel nuts or is it for 4 new locking wheel nuts plus a new adapter that you lost? (I doubt it's the latter as the price you stated sounds too cheap?)

:D Just the removal and refitting, the locking nuts and adaptor were on top of that, although to be fair Hatfields would have fitted the new locking nuts even if they’d been crappy ones from eBay supplied by myself

Glad it's all sorted.

At least your main dealer didn’t try to rip you off to resolve the issue, which another member experienced here..... https://www.ftypeforums.co.uk/viewtopic.php?p=67747#p67747
