After months of skulking on the edges of the forum & being torn between a 997 Gen 2 (used to own a 997 Gen 1 C2S), 981 Cayman & F-Type, I had my first test drive in the F a couple of weeks back and Was in love! Very excited at having just put down deposit on a 340ps 2015 coupe in ultimate black, pan rood, active exhaust, black 20" cyclones, camera/powered hatch etc. Can't wait to collect it later this week and relishing the drive from Manchester to London! Just wanted to say hi & looking forward to participating in the forums. Darren

Welcome to the Forum! No doubt you'll love the F-Type.

Post up some pictures when you get her this week.

Hi Darren, in the same boat. Just changed from my 997 to the F Type. Had it one day and love it. Also a Darren gone from a poker to the jag

Welcome Darren - I came from a 997.2 C4S and I don't think you'll be disappointed with your choice. Sounds a nicely specc'd car - look forwards to seeing some pics!

Thanks guys. Will post pics when collected. The 997's look a little dated now when right next to F-Type plus the price & spec differential is all heavily in the F-Type's favour. The Jag just feels SO special sitting in it (& looking at it!). My big concern was going from manual to the F's auto box, but it's so much more involving than I'd expected and love the paddle changes! Will post pics soon & thanks all for your initial welcome!

Welcome Daren. Nothing quite like the day you get to pick it up and drive it home. I was lucky enough to drive mine from Auckland to Palmerston North in NZ. Around a 6 -7 hour drive around some beautiful scenery. Was only back 10 minutes before wife grabbed the key and was off. Wasn't fortunate to own anything like it previously but love every moment I have in it.

Hi Darrem, I was the same in the auto box. I've never had an auto car before as I felt like it was driving. However the F Type isn't an auto as you think. The sport option in the box gives you a manual feel, the flappy paddles are so much fun and the acceleration in dynamic mode is crazy. You forget you don't have a clutch pedal and just enjoy the multitude of options for driving it.

Welcome and congrats on finding your F-type.

I can honestly say that 9 months into ownership of my own 340 Coupe and still enjoying every mile!

Look forward to the photos ... Rgds Paul
