I thought exactly the same when I read the post! The P300 is quite economical on motorways especially with the 8-speed!

As is the v8! Not as frugal as the 4 pot, of course, but it does surprisingly well if you can resist that temptation ...

I managed 40 mpg on a run up to Gatwick early hours of the morning keeping the car below or around 50 mph. Very little traffic, used just about half a tank. On way back filled her up (exercise over) and just about emptied it by Exeter!!
