The end!

So sad killing off an icon! I had an electric car for 6 month I hated I’m keeping the Jag long as I can before we are all driving soulless milk floats.

So glad to have lived to see the F-type developed and built. Even more so for having the privilege to daily one.

No reason to suppose the Jag won't last for many years (decades?) - just keep on top of the maintenance and you'll be fine. And the fuel tank won't get smaller over the years, unlike an EV battery. And it's greener to keep an older car on the road than take the carbon hit on building a new one.

What's with the sadness? ;) They're not building them anymore but there are presumably more than 80 000 of them out there and most of them will last for a very long time. As WShudds I'm so glad I got to live to see its production era, see the whole production line on site and enjoy one on a daily basis. Good choice of them to spec the very last one in green with an extended leater sienna tan interior too. :D

Car generations come and go and it was time for this first but probably not last generation of the F-Type to end production. I would have preferred if it was replaced by a new generation. The world would have been a better place if the current new Aston Vantage would have been a second gen F-Type instead but it wouldn't surprise me if something similar but leccy or hybrid based comes from Jaguar sooner or later.

The new platform Jaguar EV may well be revealed this autumn, a luxury saloon with 430 miles range and in excess of 575bhp, but a price tag of £100K…..,
Surely a sports car will be in their EV portfolio?

I had a Mustang Mach-E for 2 1/2 years and 67,000 miles and thoroughly loved it. I have now replaced this with a BMW i5 Touring and after two weeks and 2,000 miles have found it excellent.

I have the F-Type as well and the EV’s aren’t a replacement and can’t be compared however they have very different roles.
