Is this underbody corrosion in need of repair?

Hi all, proud new (<6 months) owner of my dream car finally. Was taking a look at a potential flat tyre and thought I’d peek underneath, found these arms seem quite corroded?

Is this something I should get repaired/looked at? Car has approved used warranty and as mentioned I’ve owned it for less than 6 months.

That’s rather cruddy but is still essentially intact. There are several topics on here as subframe rusting is not uncommon. If you can access the underside and don’t mind a bit/lot of dirt a good clean up with a wire wheel and a coating of rust preventer will ensure it doesn’t get any worse. Thanks for that, I don’t have a ramp or anything but I’ll get down Halfords and get a wire brush and some rust converter!

I sent the actual brackets away to be powder coated, cost about £80 from memory (see photos).

The rest I did on a ramp, it'll be hard to do it off axle stands if that's your plan.

I used Bilt Hamber for rust treatment, highly recommend it.

I wasn’t even going to use axle stands honestly, just stick my arm underneath :lol:

Seriously, I'd invest in a hydraulic jack and a pair of axle stands. Do not go under the car without axle stands in place!
