I’m thinking this could be my new baby. Anyone have any advice before I take the plunge? Does the offer look reasonable? https://www.lkcmotors.co.uk/used-cars/worksop-notts-jaguar-f-type-v6-s-2465/

I’m considering having a professional check the car over first as I’ve been caught before by unscrupulous dealers (Not saying this guy is). Can anyone recommend a company who could do that for me? Thanks in advance 🙏

Seems reasonably priced for a S. I’d want to know usual...

Mileage

No. of keepers

Service History (fine tooth comb). Should all be online

Type of warranty. F-Types can have small niggling, expensive, issues. Buying Used Approved from main dealer, for a price, gets you an extensive warranty. I’m always concerned general car dealers less keen to resolve things once money changed hands & a few weeks/months have passed.

Might well be a cherished minter. But be cautious & carry out all due diligence 👍

Car 13349.
Mileage 24,640.
Clear on PNC.
Lived its life in Cornwall so presumably only one or two owners.

FSH. (Which shows spark plugs and other things done at correct intervals but no evidence of rear diff oil change at any point so probably worth getting that done).

Presume you know VRM and VIN. If not, let me know so you can review MOT history and service history etc yourself.

This is great guys thank you. I don’t know the VIN I’m afraid SimpleR. And yes DaddyDarren that’s my concern about buying from independent dealer. Will definitely be asking what warranty they are prepared to offer. Good to know about the rear diff oil. Any other bits that could/should have been done to ask about? Cheers

I'll PM you VIN so you can view service history at https://osh.jaguar.com

Presume you've looked at MOT history which has advisories.

More negative than positive reviews:

It's the car you're buying of course not the dealer, but be doubly sure to check the car is what you want and you're happy.

I'd also be very clear on what the warranty covers as it will be an insurance backed policy and they vary greatly in what is covered or excluded, maximum claim per item, in total, etc.

Had a similar vehicle for sale in Australia I nearly went for. A V6 Black, no sun roof, similar age, only 5000 kms on it, but was interstate and it worried me buying an interstate vehicle with no warranty on it. While I would have loved a V6 ended up getting a local 4 cylinder new that has 5 year warranty and servicing. My next one will be either an 6 or 8 depending on what I can pick up in Australia that is at a reasonable price by then.
