Is there an F-Type etiquette

In the Duesseldorf area I have past no more than 5 in the last year and had waves or a headlight flash from all.
Obviously all very polite here in Germany ...

I use my F type R AWD for fun only and whenever possible with the top down. On a number of occasions when waiting in traffic next to an artic the driver from far above has offered to "do you a swop mate!" I usually respond with a smile but recently the offer came from a BP tanker driver sitting in a brand new 44 tonner carrying 40,000 litres of fuel. A quick chat with him revealed that the rig was worth "getting on for £100K and its contents another £45K. He drove off before I could close the deal!

Lol, yep we get that a lot too - ive threatened to take folks up on that offer in the ikea carpark ;)

I passed an impreza blue (a colour I can't find on the configurator) coupe on the A29 this morning and was flashed back. I've come to the conclusion that either the A29 from Sussex to Surrey is the home of friendly F type drivers (I regularly see an IRR coupe, Saphire Blue coupe, Caldera Red coupe and now this new blue coupe and get acknowledged), or maybe it's just the same person each time who owns a different colour F type for each day of the week!
Maybe the closing speed of 140 mph has a bearing on things. They are a pretty rare car up here and normally by the time I spot another F we are past each other before there's time to react.
Having said that, people love to talk to you about the car. I had one guy hanging round at a petrol station while filling up the other day. He was still there when I came out £75 lighter in the pocket...He said hope you don't mind but I wanted to hear you start it up and pull away... Well seemed a shame not to oblige....

In six months ownership I have never had an adverse comment...Still living the dream,,,,(but not looking forward to it's 2 year service in a couple of weeks..£600 job no doubt)

I had a guy come up to me in Newark yesterday who appeared to be admiring the car whilst I filled it up. He said "All the undertakers round here here have got those now". "How would you get a coffin in one of these" I said. "No", he said, "They've got Jags". Very strange conversation!

I've had a few times now when getting out of the car, someone will come up, completely blank me and walk over to the car, have a look around, breathe all over my polished windows to look inside, take a picture and walk off... very strange...

On the other hand my neighbour always asks me to make more noise whilst leaving our cul-de-sac because he loves to hear the noise from his apartment
A month or so ago I'd filled up with petrol (Shell doqs twitcher unleaded, as it seems to be more poppy) and came back from paying to find half a german coach party circling the car, admiring it. They were surprised to discover it was a Jaguar and not an Aston or something. I doubt they'd have got off the bus to look at a Porsche!
Had the F-type four days and have experienced very good etiquette so far

Saw a silver coupe on Sunday. Passed it on the motorway and got a wave. Then tonight saw our twin... Another black coupe. Gave him a flash of the hazards as he was behind me and got a flash of his headlights back

As an ex biker, the bikers nod to other bikers was a huge feeling of being in the club. I'll look out if F Types and flash a hello. I only know if 2 near where I live. My father-in-law has a V8 ragtop and I've seen an orange coupe on my commute a couple of times.

not come across another F-type yet..but a fellow in a black XK-R convertible gave me a friendly flash as he passed me at a junction; which seemed quite friendly. 911 drivers never really did that..

If your Father-in-Law does not acknowledge you, then there could be something else he is not telling you

He's more excited about 2 Fs in the family than I am I think.

At the moment he's getting some pretty hard banter about the V6S being the best of the range and the fact I have better options than his!!!
