Interior trim warranty

My V6S 3 year manufacturer's warranty is expiring at the end of April.

I have some wear on the drivers sports seats on the right hand lower bolster where you tend to catch the side when getting in the car.

The car has done just under 13,000 miles. Is this something that can be addressed under warranty or are they going to play the wear & tear card?

Anyone had any similar issues?

I think you know the likely answer ... like with all things that are marginal a lot of the success you may or may not have is going to come down to your dealer and its service/warranty manager. My example would be lacquer lifting on a set of alloys, no kerb or other damage, but cosmetically they didn’t look great. I raised my concerns, the dealer took photos, put forward a claim and within a couple of weeks I was having a new set of alloys fitted. A previous dealer had said its ‘wear and tear’ ...

Laquer lifting from alloys is pretty much a manufacturing issue, however the bolster takes quite a hammering when getting in and out.

Modern 'leathers' are colour treated just in the surface then sealed and as such don't last to well.
You may get lucky if you stumble upon a sympathetic dealer. Mind you, a new complete seat back that included a the bolsters are very expensive. Also it may not match the passenger side too well wrt sheen/wear etc.

Might be worth your while replenishing the colour and sealing it again.
 
Car going into the dealership on 16 APR for third year service. Will address it at that time and let you know. I fear, as you say, I know the likely answer. Although had a similar problem a few years ago with my BMW 6 series and BMW sorted it!.

Before going have a quick check up on consumer law for cars. The car and it's parts have to be fit for purpose. Your leather sofa does not mark in 3 years of you sitting down why should your leather car seat, be firm and you might be surprised by the answer.
 
Shortly after I bought mine from the dealer this was something I also noticed, they arranged a home visit for it to be repaired by a specialist.

After about an hour it was like brand new again.
