Insurance surprise

I was dreading my 2nd year of ownership insurance quote, so had a nice surprise when it came in at more than 40% lower than last year.
Seems like there are benefits from turning 60 after all.

My insurance with Hastings direct last year was £244, this year they wanted £422....i called them and they knocked £100 off the quote.
in the meantime i got a quote from Aviva including, courtesy, legal, breakdown, windscreen etc...all for £232......
These companies must be nuts throwing away loyal business....
 
I wish mine was this low! I'm 35, clean license, no accidents in the last 15 years. I'm paying £1100 for the year 😩
 
I also renewed the F Type (5.0 R) insurance this week with Hasting , no sure what is driving the price drop - but they agreed to match the Tesco Bronze price of £463 , which is down from £1,100 last Jan . No changes in location, NCB , or claims excess - surprised that they were not interested at all in the Ghost II and Scorpion S5 tracker having been fitted - so may be its that I breaking the 60 years barrier later this year . I was concerned that prices would go up again , as there have have been quiet a few reported thefts of F type's (4) in my area of south east London :-(
