Ideas on how to get Apple Car Play on MY16?

Hi Guys,

Does anyone have any ideas or insight on how or if it is possible to retrofit Car Play to my 2016 F Type?
I know its coming for newer models next year but I highly doubt it will be an update available for us with older models.
 
I believe you have no hope :(

I'd love it too, as it's on my shiny new Focus RS (well, Android Auto is what I use but same difference), but short of buying a new car, think we're out of luck!
 
Thats a shame.
I don't really have too many problems with InControl but the fact it STILL Doesn't support my iPhone X is an issue for me.

IMO if car companies dont want to give Apple the data, fair enough, but make sure your Tech stays up to date at least!
 
I was hoping for CarPlay too. I only wanted it so I could display waze on the screen. However it seems that Apple doesn’t allow nav apps in CarPlay so my best hope is for waze to work in InControl....some forlorn hope. I see that waze have got together with Ford and it works with ford sync. I guess it’s unlikely that JLR and waze will get together, I can but hope.

News I reviewed today .. from JLR spokes person

Inside, the F-Type now comes with Jag’s 10-inch InControl Touch Pro infotainment screen as standard. There’s still no Apple CarPlay or Android Auto connectivity, but a JLR spokesperson says that both are due later in the year. There’s new trim for the air vents, a frameless rear-view mirror is also included.

I am new member to Forum and have a MY18 P300 fast back grey It does not have the 10” touch pro screen and I would like to have Apple Car Play retro fitted. Does any body have a solution to this problem

Hello .. unfortunately i don't believe this is possible, total non starter. The 10 inch screen is possible.
but as I have said before happy to be proven wrong

Are their specialist in Jaguar upgrades out there that will upgrade my 2018 P300 FType to a 10 “ touch pro screen, such as you see being done on You Tube

Pretty much anything is possible if you're prepared to throw enough money at it. Whether it's cost-effective is another matter, of course. ;)
