How to restore lost settings?

Hi All,

Before Christmas my car suffered injector failure, non-start, or start with very poor / erratic idle, and was dispatched to Wraptor Customs for repairs, where it stood for a few weeks with the battery disconnected whilst being fixed.

Once repaired, the car now does a few things differently :
1. Previously, a single push of the starter button with the brake pedal depressed would crank the engine and initiate starting. Now I have to press button twice, once for ignition on, and again to initiate cranking and starting
2. Previously when pulling up to stop in traffic, the auto stop start would normally kick in and operate in the way you'd expect, now on quite a few occasions, the stop start kicks in for a few seconds, and then the car just shuts down. This has caught me out on numerous occasions when waiting at roundabout lights where traffic can flow very quickly!
3. Previously when pulling up to stop the car fully, I could have the car stopped on the foot brake, press the park button and the car would automatically shut down and apply the parking brake, now, pressing the park button only puts the gearbox into park, I still have to manually engage the parking brake and press the start / stop button to turn the engine off
4. Prior to the long down time period, I never had any issues with cruise control or auto start / stop, now, if I have to brake sharply, I lose cruise control option as well as the start stop function.

None of the above are the end of the world, but I'd really like to know if there's any way of getting these functions restored, either by cheat codes within the button pressing sequence etc or whether a dealer could do this?

Of all of the above the cruise issue is the most annoying, but is easily restored with an engine stop & start cycle

Also, and whist not Jag, but JLR, my wife's 20419 Discovery 5 has auto adjust steering column and seat memory, but the steering column does nothing by way of auto movements when changing from one driver's seat settings to another?
On a similar theme, and something that is better in the Discovery than Jag is that the seat heater / cooling settings are retained for 5 mins in memory after ignition off, which is great when you just have to nip into a shop etc, and then not have to faff around resetting them again - is this something that can be added / activated in the Jag?

Any ideas / advice in respect to any /all of the above observations would be really appreciated

I'm not an expert but it sounds to me like the car has been coded incorrectly.
Many models over the JLR family use the same architecture, are broadly compatible but are slightly different, such as the engagement of the handbrake etc.
I'd go back to the garage and ask them if the recoded your car, potentially they've just uploaded the wrong software.

Hopefully I'm wrong and someone will come along and say you just need to change a fuse!

Hi all, just thought I'd post an update to this one, as miraculously the car has healed itself!
Background to the above is that I recently did an afternoon working on the head unit to swap over to an Android based 10" screen, and ran the battery very low!
This necessitated a full overnight recovery charge on my Noco Genius 10 Charger, (leaving the main battery connected and connecting the charger via the separate terminals under the bonnet) which seems to have cured all of the ailments which have been present since getting the car back from Wraptor on Christmas Eve.
Even though there was never an issue starting etc, and I cover plenty of mileage to keep the battery well charged, there must have been un underlying storage capacity issue somewhere either in the main battery or an auxiliary within the car somewhere else, and I would never have thought just putting the battery through a deep charge cycle would cure this sort of thing!
Something to bear in mind should you have any form of random electrical gremlin hunting through your car!

Always the battery, or maybe when tapped into the car with a scanner the systems not shut down correctly and battery drainned
