How do I release the hand brake.

Sorry this sounds silly, however I cannot find a way to get the electric parking brake off. I have put it in neutral and tried every masonic method on utube, and still it remains on. Why can't it just release when holding it down.
I need to make some fine adjustments to it's position in the garage. Am I missing something? the app and the manual are no help.

You’ll find it as brake maintenance mode…

Put the car in brake maintenance mode. Ignition on, push the hand brake button down and hold for 2 secs, press accelerator to the floor and hold 2 secs turn ignition off/on and release accelerator and hand brake button. Dash should now read Brake Maintenance Mode.

Take the car out of brake maintenance mode. Ignition on, pull the hand brake button up and hold for 2 secs, press accelerator to the floor and hold 2 secs turn ignition off/on and release accelerator and hand brake button. Dash should now clear Brake Maintenance Mode.

Outside of brake maintenance mode, I leave it in park and disengage the handbrake when my car is going to be sat in the garage for a while. This stops the pads sticking to the discs.

My 2015 only needed the handbrake button to be pressed in order to release it before locking the car. However, later cars need to have the brake pedal pressed (engine off) whilst the button held down, then release the pedal and keeping the button pressed whilst you turn the ignition off

This works for models which have the toggle parking brake but not the push button park button. I've called several service centers and they all said that the car has to be taken out of service mode either with a Jaguar scan tool or hopefully disconnecting the positive on the battery for 15 minutes and maybe resetting it. I've got my battery disconnected right now and I'm just waiting and ticked off at this this situation. You can put the car into service mode but you can't take it out

If anyone has some helpful hints, I'd appreciate it without having to get a service center involved

This works for me…

Releasing the Electronic Parking Brake (EPR):
The EPB applies automatically when the ignition is turned Off. To temporarily disable the parking brake:

• With the ignition On-engine Off, depress the brake pedal and press down and hold the EPB switch.

• Within 5 seconds, turn the ignition Off.

• Continue to hold down the EPB switch for 2 more seconds. The parking brake will remain released until the next time the ignition is cycled On and Off.

Caution: If the ignition is cycled On and Off, this procedure must be repeated.

Holding the brake pedal and the parking button down and then pushing the ignition button starts the vehicle

I had my Park Brake stuck on....
The day i finished work to retire...i left 15 mins early got in my iced up car and had the message 'Handbrake fault' needs Re-calibrating.
i guess the car wanted to stay just a little longer.
i tried every way to calibrate it...no joy.
I bought a Jag diagnostic tool and it gave me a code referring to a a faulty right hand side caliper motor...
jacked it up, took the old motor off and new one in...turned the car back on, no codes, no warning lights, no bongs
jobs a good un for £70
