Heating Dial Digital Temp Displays - blank.

Got in the car to go home from work today, started her up and the temp / heated seats dials just have blank black screens. No digital display showing at all on all three of them. <br /><br />Switched car off and back on to try to reset and the same happens. <br /><br />Anyone else had this? Was there a simple fix (fuse etc)<br /><br />Annoyed.
 
Mine did this.<div><br></div><div>I locked the car, left it for 10 mins and it was back - never had the problem since bizarrely.</div><div><br></div><div>Locking the car makes a difference - then leave it for a bit. I assume until all the systems have properly powered down.</div><div><br></div><div>Fingers crossed!</div>
 
Sadly. Left it locked for half an hour. Went back to it. Same. <br /><br />The outer dials (the ones for the temp and heated seats) have two blobs of colour showing in the top corners of the circle. Is this normal. Almost looks like the LCD has "leaked". <br /><br />Everything else works. Heated seats still work, you just can't tell what temp you have set or whether the heated seat is on or off etc. Is a pita. 😡<edited><editID>MOz</editID><editDate>2017-04-06 19:37:15</editDate></edited>
 
Maybe a disconnect of the negative/ground side of the battery (for some 30 sec) might be worth a try?<br /><br />
 
The car is under warranty - it's just another annoyance to get it booked in and looked at.
 
It gets stranger. Just been out to walk the dog. The car is out on the drive. It's been locked for a couple of hours yet I look in the cabin and the hazard warning triangle above the hazard warning switch in the centre panel is lit and the two small orange lights by the door unlock switches on the doors are both lit too. g<br />I suspect I won't have any battery left when I come to go to work tomorrow morning. I have no tools where I'm staying so can't do anything with batteries etc.
 
I hope you still hade some "juice" left to start Your car this morning MOz.<div> </div><div>My bet for a "quick fix" is still to disconnect the battery for half a minute or so, and see if that would sort out your problems.</div><div> </div>
 
Car fully fixed itself this morning. <br /><br />Loads of battery juice left. No idea what happened. Probably just had a funny turn. Coloured blobs in the L&R rotary windows are normal!!
 
This is the delight of modern technology in today's cars. You never know what's round the corner and no one at the dealership has a clue how to fix it other than to replace complete modules. Where would we be without it? Just going to get my 1952 Ferguson tractor started. If it doesn't go first time I know just where to look!
 
Cars have become mobile computers nowadays. The oily bits rarely give trouble, but its the electrics that usually result in me getting rid when they get old. Probably why the answer is so often to switch it off and on.<br><br>I had my screen go black a few times until I worked out what the sequence of buttons was that caused it. I'd got so used to avoiding it I forgot to mention it when in for service. Only double locking the car and leaving it overnight would bring it back to life. However, they must have applied a sofware update as it no longer blacks out.<br>
