Yes - I had the option of a 3-stage correction, but the car didn't need that, so I just went for a 2-stage - not sure what the price difference between 2-stage and 3-stage is though

Full wash & decontamination 1st, 2-stage paint correction, then ceramic coat.

He offered me 2 different ceramic coats - 1 was about £100 more than the other but had a 3 years guarantee so went with that.

Finally someone local!!

Had mine done at Pro Valeting Huddersfield and would recommend getting it done.

Very nice - shiny!! 8-)

Good bonnet alignment too.

Well i have for the past 10 years or so..

Its great what these guys can do.

if anyone is should I or shouldn’t I, well, I’m SO glad i did.

went to get my black convertible out from the garage for a run this morning. As i was getting in I noticed a large dollop of bird muck (or that’s what i thought that’s what it was) on the near side front pillar. I could only think a bird must have got in the garage after i put the car away 10 days ago, as I would never park it up without cleaning any poop off first.

Worse still was once in my seat looked over to the passenger window to notice colossal dollops all down the window. Jeez this must have been a frigging flying cow that’s got in.

Pulled the car out, walked round the passenger side to take a look only to find the white whatever it was from top of window, 6-8 inches wide right down to the door sill. What the ***** was it. Went back into the garage to take a look and found that a tin of paint stored on the top shelf had burst on the seem and had poured all down the side of the car!

In the heat of the past week it had baked pretty hard.

After the initial panic, I set up pressure washer, hose, soapy water, wash mitts and lambs wool covered sponge. I soaked the paint, kept adding soapy water then gently sprayed water on. Some paint started to drop off, some more reluctant. I then used the Karcher and sprayed into the edge of the built up paint. Washed gently, sprayed, washed gently, sprayed etc.

After around an hour I managed to get it all off. Dried it.

Threw every tin of paint away, never again will it be stored near my car.

Now having looked closely the paint is off and it has only left a feint bloom over an area of about 6” diameter area, I guess where it had been on the longest.

It doesn’t look like I’m going to get that off myself so will give Atlantic a call tomorrow to arrange them to strip that bit of ceramic and redo.

So not a perfect outcome, but without having the ceramic on I dread to think what the outcome would have been. Likewise, just for once I’d left it with the roof down. Am i glad i did else i think if it had been up and paint hit the roof area it would have been a well and truly screwed mohair roof.

Crap awful start to the day, but my word was i ever glad i’d had ceramic

The moral of the story is not to store anything above the car - that's what floors are for.
Glad you got it nearly back to perfect, sounds like a result.

Thanks , That's got me thinking, Although I have a mezzanine it could still drip through should it leak, might be rearranging the Mezzy and putting the paint on the other side!

Glad you got it all off so easily, hopefully it was emulsion and not gloss! should be easily corrected by your detailer. Good stuff ceramic coat!

My new V8 being done in October near Nantwich correctional work then CQuartz, wheels, glass, and convertible roof treatments. 1k in total but well worth it , will post pics after
