Guest seems to start a lot of threads?

I've noticed that when I look at the index page of threads in a section, a number of threads are shown as started by "Guest" but the actual first post has a real member name. Is this a bug or a feature? See F-Types Parts for Sale and Wanted for an example.
 
You're definitely not alone, and it's not new either - it's been like it for me for getting close to a year now. It's the same on my phone, laptop and PC, irrespective of which browser I use, so it's not something from our (users) end at least (as far as I can tell)
 
Thanks for flagging this, though we are very well aware of it.

New software was purchased many months ago now, but there have been seemingly endless problems moving the existing bank of threads across to the new platform.

We do now seem to be making some progress, so please be patient with the existing software, we really do hope to be launching on a new platform in weeks not months.

Great that you’ve created a new topic on this issue 👍

I brought it to the attention of admin via PM almost 12 months ago (22/02/2024 to be precise). Thankfully they are now making progress with the new forum software and platform which by the sounds of it should be launching soon.

Good luck with the move, these things are never as easy as it seems and those outside of the IT industry will never know ;-)
