Genuine silver stop/start button & paddles

Hi
I bought a cheap Ebay start/stop button (black button with silver surround) a couple of months ago and it's been working fine (and still is).
It was to replace the usual worn orange button.
However, the 'start/stop' inscription on the button is very faint and may be getting worse, so I've decided to take the plunge and replace with a genuine silver one and replace the paddles at the same time (also in silver).
Does anyone know the part numbers I need please and which model of F type they were fitted to as standard?
I think it was the SVR??

Also, how are the paddles removed and is it easy?
I believe it's a couple of torx screws, maybe behind the paddle, but I haven't had a good look at them yet.
Does anything else need to be removed regarding the paddle removal?

Thanks in advance.

The paddles are super easy to remove. Just a torx screw and a connector to pull out for each paddle. There should be some forum threads or youtube videos about that out there. Switching to aluminium paddles is a great update if you like me use them a lot. I had mine for years now and my F-Type is the third Jag I've fitted them to.

Yes easy plug and play swap. A little fiddly as the screws are on the rear of the steering wheel. It’s easier to access them if you turn the wheel a 1/4 turn. Single torx screw on each and small electrical connector to pull off.

Note there are solid aluminium paddles and silver coated plastic ones. I assume you want the former.

Sample random eBay advert with part numbers and description how to tell the difference. (Solid aluminium don’t illuminate)

Thanks and yes, I now see that the part no. I need is T2R6547MMU for the aluminium paddles.
I was also looking at JDE36051 & JDE36052, of which there are a few on Ebay and a bit cheaper (genuine JLR, but listed for the XE and XF).
Has anyone tried fitting these and are they any different, because they look the same from the photos?

The main problem I still have is with the genuine aluminium start/stop button.
I'm beginning to wonder whether they actually exist?
Or whether the choice is just black or the standard bronze?
I can't seem to find any listed on the usual web-sites.

I have to say that the metal coated plastic paddles feel surprisingly good and sturdy though, probably because the coating is quite thick. My F-Type came with those but I fitted my larger solid aluminium ones instead. The difference in feel between them is much smaller than compared to plain plastic paddles.

I don't think there's such a thing as an OEM aluminium button. I've never seen one at least. As far as I know the early cars came with the bronze button and later cars came with the black button.

Couple of thoughts:

Looking at the JLR parts the F type fit also XK and ePace but XF & XE iare not listed. XF/XE may fit but why risk it?
You can get the pair here from JLR £128 inc vat and posting:

For the start stop - I agree with MajorTom re the aluminium start button. Never seen one and I replaced everything on mine with oem parts (gear selector as worn, start stop, paddles and mode selector)

Just purchased a set of the brushed aluminium paddles but in Red.
I have attached the images. The part number is T2R6547CAY or also displayed as VPLVS0187CAY on the actual part.
Managed to get the pair for £115 on eBay.

Took 5 mins to fit.

Hi and thanks for the replies.
Here's what I've discovered....

T2R42909 (stop/start switch in black) is out of stock everywhere it seems.
I discovered that LR094038 is a Land Rover part and fits perfectly.
It has a matt black button and aluminium surround and looks really nice.
Basically a genuine JLR version of the cheap Ebay one I had.
The text is much brighter, so will last longer for sure.

Also bought the aluminium paddles (T2R6547MMU), although the red anodised ones do look good too.
All purchased from Britcar.
