Gearbox map - more whoompf?

I’m curious to know how the gearbox software may have developed over the years…I ask because my F-Pace SVR has a pronounced DSG style whomphf (for want of a better word!) when I change up under hard acceleration.
My F-type SVR does NOT do this.
The speed of the change seems to be just as quick but more seamless and less dramatic.
Both cars are MY2019 although F-Pace is slightly younger than F-type.
Seems back to front that my SUV is more sporty than my sports car - so curious to know if things changed over time.
In particular, how does the P575 behave?
 
Apparently these gearboxes behave a little differently depending on how they're run in from new or after a reset. After a filter change, mine revved a bit more than it used to, before pulling away, causing more wheelspin. (I did drive it hard straight after the filter change.) Expert then reset the software and advised to run it like an old lady for 500 miles to teach it smooth changes. That solved it and I also learnt that wafting/cruising in the thing is quite fun too.
 
I had a gearbox remap, it raises the torque limit in the lower gears and makes the changes quicker in manual mode.. Not sure about the noise, I think that's more you to do with the engine map than the gearbox.

Yes I would. Celtic did mine, they are based just outside Newquay and have a branch in Derby.
You have to be going some to notice it, but you will 😁

Good point - didn’t occur to me it might be the engine map rather than the gearbox map but that makes more sense.
It seemed fashionable at some point to program in a whoomph noise on change up - I remember Audi and VWs doing it first which is why I originally thought it was a DSG thing but it seems not given the ZF 8-speed can do the same.
Slightly gimmicky - like pops and bangs - but good fun if you like such things!

Gearboxes adapt really quickly. No need for software resets or similar, unless a specific problem is identified. You’ll find after 10-20 miles they have already adapted to your current style.
Slightly different adaptation but my former RR Evoque would adjust from towing a Jeep in just a few miles and back again once the trailer was off in a similar time. Very dramatic difference too.
