Garaging

I'm loving the red laser dot on the red car...... A pot of paint and a big white stripe up the centre of the bonnet ought to cure it.

Well...I've been doing a renewed bit of digging into garage floor tiles and I think i've found what i'm looking for at the right price....sooo....I think i'm going to treat myself this month....or should I say, treat the garage.

I had a chat with a very helpful chap called Mark Harwood at Plasfloor in Birmingham.

www.Plasfloor.co.uk

They make and sell their own product and they seem to be a quality product at a competitive price.

He's sending me a sample to test. In the meantime, i'm playing about at designing a floor pattern and colour scheme.
These look the business.
Being solid rather than waffle structure underneath answers one of my concerns about point loads when using a trolley jack or axle stands.

I might send for a sample as well.

Now it's playtime messing about with colours and patterns.

Thanks for the link Going to order a sample too.

Jagster, what are you planning with the strips? A line to help you get in the garage?

Silly question...

Regardless of which tiles I go for I'll get the "ramped" edging for the entrance to the garage so there's a nice clean edge. I get why the instructions tell you to start in the corner of the room but if you want an edge at the garage door like that, do you not need to start at the door? Or am I being a bit thick?!

I was inspired by an earlier pic to add my own vinyl decal. Only had room on the back of the garage door though!

Problem is, I want more now!
Captainham.....I can see you've certainly been bitten by the bug...(or maybe that should be...by big cat )

Next stage could be lining the walls in fur
Ok, enough already, I'll stop now.

Mine has to sit outside so currently looking for a good outdoor car cover ...

The garage has been home for many years to my other toy, but I have painted the floor with grey floor paint, and emulsioned the walls. Then to keep everything tidy and to avoid the risk of something falling and hitting the car I bought a selection of heavy duty plastic units that clipped together as can be seen in the reflection below ...

I may build a carport to offer some protection but in the meantime any cover recommendations would be welcome. There's one of fleabay for £242 that claims to be OEM .. anyone any experience of owning one?

regards, Paul
