Fuse 15 or 43 or both

Morning,

I have an MY16 V8R. I noticed it was a little quiet and on investigation the NS exhaust valve was stuck closed.
A quick poke and it is open and I suspect with a little work I can free it up properly and get it behaving properly.

However it is lemans in a couple of weeks and I don't have much time between no and then so thought I'd just pull fuses to make the valves stay open.

I have 43 and 15... which one is best or do I need to pull both?

I have done a search through the topics but there is so much info it is hard to work out what they do on my car.

On a MY16 pressing the button or switching to dynamic should open the valves for you anyway. (assuming later software updates haven't changed things retrospectively).

Your owners handbook probably shows Fuse 15 as being the exhaust control for that year. Removing both fuses was only for the very early cars, I think.
 
Thanks, I know I can press the button but until I free off the stuck valve I don't want it to close and then stick closed.

The handbook has F43 10A active exhaust and F15 5A active exhaust valve, so you can understand my confusion... Is 43 the whole active system and 15 just the valves, what's the difference?
 
My MY20 car only lists fuse 15 as being the exhaust. You could try removing fuse 15 on its own to see if that works. But, as two fuses are listed on yours, it could be that removing both is needed. There's a post on here, where someone tried this out by removing 15 and then 43.

Early cars had a vacuum pump for the exhaust, which was changed to use manifold vacuum. I wonder if the two fuse arrangement is a hangover from this, with one originally for the vacuum pump and another for the solenoid (even though the pump became absent).
 
My MY18 handbook doesn't list a fuse 43 in any fuse box! As Mick says, try removing F15 and see if that does the trick for you. Suck it and see! :)
 
Thanks, on further inspection the spindle has come off the actuator so it’s not going to be closing in a hurry. I’ll pull 15 later and then get modstock to sort it at some point in the future.
