Fresh owner of a MY20 F-Type R V8... InControl update question

Hi,

I've had my new-to-me MY20 F-Type R V8 for a few weeks now and am absolutely in love with it.

I put a SIM in and InControl offered an update to 22A. It's currently got 19A of InControl and I've read quite a lot of contradicting reports of exhaust changes after updating...

Is there any confirmation that it does or doesn't change anything? At the moment, when I open the active exhaust even while parked, the valves can be seen opening, and there's an obvious increase in sound. If I update, will they stay closed until 3k rpm?

I don't like the idea of muting the sounds so soon after getting it... but if the reports aren't actually true then I'll go ahead, since I do have some annoying issues occasionally with it not detecting my phone when plugged in etc which might get fixed?

The upgrade from 19a to 22a only relates to the head unit software.
 
Perfect - I did wonder how InControl update affected anything, guess I'll look forward to the rest of the updates when it eventually has to go to a dealer for an issue or service...

You can just decline any software updates, I have been for 4+ years now! I get them to put in on service sheet and highlight it! NO SOFTWARE UPDATES. :P
