We have finally drawn stumps with vBulletin. I have never before encountered such an unresponsive, unhelpful, and incompetent organisation. Sites which run their software seem to do well, but they could not have been less helpful to us, and so, on the anniversary of paying them a substantial sum for a year's hosting (yes, it has been that long), and with them not even replying to messages, we have simply denied them bank details to pay for the next year.
So, thanks to suggestions from members, we are going on to the Xenforo platform, which seems, to my delight, to be professionally run. They are presently being responsive and prompt, so I hope it won't be long now.
There are considerable costs in hosting and running this forum, and we shall be making some appropriate changes in order to recoup those, as well as introducing some new features and improving what's on offer for members here.
