FLAT BATTERY, AND ROOF NOT LATCHED MESSAGE

I also don't think 60km will charge the battery. Is your auto Stop/Start working? This is normally a good indication if the battery is fully charged or not. When I bought my car, collecting it from near Nottingham, the first time the Stop/Start worked was near Holyhead, about 160miles later - and I'd no low battery warning or issues when I started!

You are right, the STOP/START doesnt work, so this means the battery is low (44% acording to the tester)...this could be the reason of the Roof Message and why the roof doesnt even moves?
A board that needs a full charged battery? Motors of the roof need a full charged battery?

Good advice to follow , if the message do not go away next step is to replace the battery , mind and fully charge before installing, do you have a code reader or access to one

No code reader...will try anyhow to get one too.

Those AA men were good in their day!
But cars were much simpler then as well.
12.3V is only aout 50% charged.

Not the case going by the member who posted a chart , 12.3 = 70%

Well, the low battery may have triggered a module into a certain state to protect the overall car - in the same way that the stop/start doesn't work under certain conditions. As I advised earlier, make sure you have a fully charged battery and then start diagnosing from there.

BTW, Jaguar isn't the only manufacturer whose cars require lots of volts to function properly, else why would others like Aston Martin, Mercedes, Porsche, etc, supply rebadged CTEKs for their own models?

I guess my chart is different to your chart!!

Seems to be for solar panels lol , any how mine today after being on charge overnite now reads 13.3 v , so switched off and onto another car that read 12.4 v , for tonite

CETK, just arrived home. I will charge tomorrow night after reading from OBD.
OBD II will arrive tomorrow.
Will let u know what happens. I hope I can avoid Jaguar Service...

Thks to all of you guys¡¡

Hope a fully charged battery will solve your problems. See topic below for useful information on connecting your new Ctek:

If it was me I would install a new AGM battery but that's me , ps a new roof motor costs £500 harness another £100 then labour charge takes to over £2 grand

Ctek is a maintainer or trickle charger , it takes Days to fully charge , frankly I don't rate them

And happy to be in one . ctek are not the be all and end all , over rated junk if you ask me , your battery has to be fully charged prior to using one ask me how i know , first one failed !!! second and present one lies in shed was a Christmas pressie , a good 8-10 amp normal charger will FULLY charge any car battery over nite Ctek WONT  ;)

Yeah, but if you store your car for the winter, your good 8-10 amp normal charger won't keep the battery in tip-top condition, the CTEK WILL. ;)

Pardon ;) my car is at present Stored as you call it , sits outside with a cover over it and the charger clips are on positive and negitive , the cable plug end dangles outside all i do is plug it in to the extension lead every two weeks , i still can get access to boot hence me taking a reading prior to connection , works for me

Any one wants a ctek ms5 model like new sure I still got the box somewhere it's theirs for a bargain price of £35 bucks including posting uk only

A standard charger without AGM specific profiles isnt great for regularly charging an AGM battery, it wont reach the correct voltage for an AGM, and will eventually memory effect the battery to lower capacity, which is why the CTEK charger is good for maintenance/storage, a deep discharged battery does need a kick from a high power charger which the CTEK is not good for.

Correct. Prior to buying the Ring brand one I have (4 in total , 1 cteck, 1 ring , 2 aldi brand ) I looked it up to make sure that all battery types inc Amg were suitable , even the aldi ones have a voltage display with back light and are Amg comparable a bargain for under 15 old English bottle tops lol

well:

* CTEK at level7..suposedly battery is charged
* OBDlink gives no codes about latch or battery or at least I cant find them
Message still displaying and roof not opening...

Any more hints?
