Firesand V8 S says Hello!

Good evening all!

I’m very pleased to have purchased this Jan ‘13 registered Firesand Orange V8 S. It’s had 2 previous owners, one being a Football manager apparently!

I’ve been yearning for one of these for around 5 years! (Put on hold when the twin girls came along!)

Looking forward to having a nosey around on here.

Couple of things I’d like to ask right off the bat…

Is there a site that I can pop in the VIN number to see what it was specced with? Seems to have almost all the options except for the heated steering wheel.

Any idea why the outer surround on the front grill is chrome, and everything else is Black? It’s apparently got the Black Pack on it!?

Thanks. ☺️

Car 00098 or officially K00098 as Jaguar would of named it as.

These are tricky cars to track down as the reg plates sometimes get re-used and they don't appear on Jaguar system to find VIN's as they never recorded PDI records as they came straight from the factory. (Google "F-Type VX62" and go to images for example).

This one was registered 25th Jan 2013 and remains on the original plate and would of been originally registered as a prototype to avoid car tax so won't have a vehicle type approval and will be listed at 0g/km co2 on v5c at a guess. Unfortunately you'll still have to pay road tax as the cars get updated after the initial loan period.

I can only find one stock picture of it on the M61 near Manchester so it wasn't used as magazine car and may have been a footballers car. Jose Mourinho had one on loan for example (not this one).

Looks great. Enjoy.

EDIT. Some of the first 100 or so cars can be a slight mismatch of parts depending on what was available which might explain no heated steering wheel or chrome/black pack mismatches. The worst I've seen was one of the first five XE v6's prototypes which was red but with a blue leather interior. Some also get changed onto different wheels afterwards as well.

Woah, you sound like you certainly know your stuff anyway.

Very interesting to hear the car is a prototype!
I did wonder as you’re right about the co2 emissions being 0. I got a pleasant surprise when taxing it!

Welcome! Fantastic looking car! The only really odd looking thing is that the door handles are black. Never seen that before and first thought that they along with other parts may have been wrapped. Considering that it's a prototype maybe they were always black.

In all the years I’ve been looking for one, I’d never seen one with Black handles either MajorTom! They’re definitely not wrapped anyway. Neither are the other Black bits! 🤷🏼‍♂️

Hi
An awesome car! I must say I’m rather envious as I tried to purchase this actual car, but you beat me to it!
Enjoy a wonderful V8 S.

Hey RV877.

Did you really!!?? Simon kindly held it for me after a deposit until I returned onshore to complete the sale. Really glad he did, the car is incredible. Hopefully you’ll take comfort in knowing that I’m gonna enjoy it, (A LOT! 😁)

And hopefully you managed to source another one?

All the best,
Stuart.

Hi Stuart
By the time I could get over to view, Simon had explained that it would be on its way to Scotland 😌.
Good to see it is in valued hands. I’m still looking…
