FINALLY placed my order

I bit the bullet this winter and bought a bit of a winter hack......a Ford Ranger 4x4 pick-up.
A cast off from Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service, for the price of not much more than a set of winter tyres for the F-Type.
I have to say that it's great fun. I have other uses that I have in mind for it, so that's the main reason why I opted for a 4x4 pickup over any other vehicle.
VERY different than the Jag, but I like that....Variety is the spice of life....apparently.. :-)

I also got a Fiesta ST for the other half back in September - I know this is an F Type forum but I do have to say the Fiesta is also really good ..... I love driving it - fab gear change and huge fun round the corners (not a bad noise either)

Good to know, thanks! After reading evo and the rest, I may have "accidentally" ticked the Mountune option bo when ordering....damn thing will be as powerful as my old 2003 Scooby WRX but in a little front-wheel drive, torque steer ahoy but can't wait for it!

I've noticed that the Jaguar website (build section) has been updated with the new special edition and the optional extras page has been modified (some minor options have slight price increases).

It's a little clearer now, but still could be better.

Congratulations! Your spec sounds fantastic, seats with red stitching and red set belt is a really nice touch! Im looking for similar spec 'used' but would ideally like the design pack too. Always going to be some level of compromise for me buying used though but enjoying the hunt....I'll wait for 'the one' for me!

Bet you can't wait!! At least you'll hopefully be timing it right for the improved weather to pop along just nicely for you 👍

Thanks Carl!

You're right, can't wait!

I wanted the design pack too, but wanted it in black, not the body colour. Apparently they couldn't order it in different colours so I'll look at getting it later on and having it sprayed and fitted.

Great stuff.

For info, I've enquired how much an aftersales black pack and/or design pack would be at a jag garage.

Design pack parts and installation = £2600+vat
Black pack parts and installation = £3100+vat

I was expecting it to be more than the option but the black pack really surprised me.

Guess I'll be looking for a car with these options already on for sure.....

Hmm so it's about £1000 worth of labour/ respray to fit them post purchase

Good to know!
I have a pending request with my dealer for the same equity, will be interesting to see if they comeback any different!

I was surprised they couldn't paint it black for me during the manufacturing process.
I also wanted a the centre console J in red leather but was told that couldn't be done either.
Maybe one day aftermarket. I think that would looks pretty slick if it matched the belts etc

I'm actually looking at a white one at the moment with the same interior seats/stitching and red belt and yeah, I can see your thought process there!

Please let me know when you get your price back from your dealer. Cheers

How long did it take you guys to get an order confirmation and a more definitive date from the factory, after placing your orders?

My dealer originally said this should come after about two weeks - its been over two weeks since ordering now, but no news yet from the factory.
Maybe his initial thought of 2 weeks was not quite right?

I ordered my coupe from Warrington jag in late December, just been informed early March build date.

Not sure how long then till delivery?

I ordered my f type at the start of November.
I got my build slot allocation notification mid December.
Build commenced on the 15th jan.
Build completed on the 25th jan.

It's still currently with the factory, I'm expecting it to be with the dealership for collection a week Friiday, although I've now told them to hold off so I get a new 16 plate reg.

Thanks Fisher, a good idea of timeline then. I fear mine wont actually turn up before April..I'm going to the factory tomorrow for a the tour - maybe I can pick it up for ya ;)

I wish you could!
Although I'm just going to wait until March now, I'm away on business for a couple weeks now anyway.

I've ordered a v6s coupe in firesand.
I've opted for the sport style pack with black pack and the new Oem fixed spoiler.
I can't remember which alloys, but they're 20inch and black.<edited><editID>Fisher</editID><editDate>2016-02-02 14:24:17</editDate></edited>

An update on my car,

It's finally been called over to the dealership.
THREE weeks after they finished building it, which was two weeks after my build slot, which was two and a half MONTHS after ordering my car.

All in all its taken 14 weeks from ordering, to get to a point the car could be registered. I think it's rather ridiculous personally.

However at least it's now ready for when I get home from my business trip. Plus I'll now at least have the joy of being one of the first people in a 16 plate car.

Dealer reckons they should have my F in their possession and ready for pickup March 25th (could change of course).
That would be amazing - in time for the long weekend!

I think a drive to New Forrest will be in order!

I was hoping the same for delivery for Easter weekend!

Dealer reckons build date is March 4th that week so don't know if late March delivery is still feasible ?

Dealer just got in touch to say they have the car at their compound and delivery could be within the next 5 days!

I think I just peed a little with so much excitement!

Good news!

Wish you the very best with the pick-up - and then drive off and have fun:-)
