F-Type whining under light acceleration (Rear diff?)

Hi everyone, very new owner (<2 months) of a beautiful BRG 3.0L V6 F-Type. Loving every minute driving it… but I seem to have come across my first potential issue already!

On dual carriageways or motorways, when maintaining speed and lightly pressing the accelerator at about 70mph, there is a noticeable whine coming from the car. I’ve done some research, seems it could be a rear diff issue?

The car is approved used, 165 point check and came with extended warranty. Any of you have any experience with a similar issue/the diagnosis process? Should I be driving the car still? It’s booked in but not for another month…

I think rear diff related issues are more apparent at low speeds when on full lock for example.

Is yours a 340 or a 380 with LSD. Age? Mileage?
If a 380 then has the 4-year rear diff oil change been completed?

The 165 point check is pretty pointless to be honest but as you have extended Jaguar warranty, if it is the diff, then it would be covered.

340 RWD, 2019, 28k miles. I requested the rear diff oil to be changed before I collected the car.

The open diff on a 340ps should be fine - especially with an early oil change like that.

I changed mine after 7 years for peace of mind and it still looked decent - and the official recommendation is 10 years / 160k miles.

Could it be an out of balance rear wheel or something like that?
