F-Type V8 R. Blue vs Grey. Facelift vs Pre-Facelift.

I am looking for an F-Type V8 R and I have narrowed it down to these 2 options but I can't decide which is better looking.

The grey pre-facelift design or the newer blue facelift version.

Your opinions are welcome!

They both look great - you'll have to make your own mind up which you like more! Sorry. :D

There must be other factors to consider such as options, MY, mileage, service record, tires, overall condition and price.
Personally, I think the grey will age better than the blue, which I think is a "couleur du jour" but that is just my personal opinion.
It will be YOUR car!!

Grey one is sold and was car number 57941.
The blue one has encoded (hidden) VRN on sellers website, autotrader, etc so unable to find vehicle info on it. Unsure why some garages do this.

The Grey one with the original shark face looks better. It is sculpted, the blue one isn't.

Secondly (and a big one for me) - The blue one has black wheels but chrome trim which doesn't fit. Blue paint with black wheels looks best with the Black exterior pack which the blue one doesn't have.

I like the blue colour but prefer the older shape but that's because I own a older shape V6S. Either way both great cars and not a bad dilemma to have.

Series I will always be the most handsome model and the most sought after model in years to come because of its purity.

The vent bars on the second car are very Porsche 'esq.
Go for a RWD and you get rid of the double bubble bonnet bulge.

Would you really recomend a RWD for someone who lives in England? lots of rain and snow in winter.

Sure, why not?

I live in England and have driven RWD through the winters with rain and snow.

If the driving skills are not up to scratch, or you're unable to let 10 psi out of the two rear tyres, then sure, lean on the AWD nannies, but be prepared for overall higher running costs and higher rates of wear and tear, not mentioning weight penalty to an already heavy car.

Ok,

RWD models tend to be older. I am looking at one from 2014 and its a decent price. I know it has the hydraulic steering which I would prefer but I am also already used to the electronic type steering in my V6S.

But it withwith RWD being older, aren't they a bit a of harder ride? I've seen many people saying the newer AWD models from 2016 are more refined and better for long trips etc while the older AWD are bit more fun if you take it to a track perhaps..

I'd love to hear your thoughts.

Sounds like you are looking at a V8S as opposed to the R? (Had one) It has hydraulic steering.
2015/16 you can get RWD, electric steering.

During 2015 the design team shod a lot of weight from the F-type by going electrical steering, loosing the second stop/start battery and all the crap that's associated with opening/closing the exhaust valves, compressors, plumbing et al. They actually have the best pwr/weight ratio of all F-types.

The AWD is a lot, lot heavier towards the front end. I guess this must be compensated with higher damping rates, to cope and may feel softer? The ride of the SVR (had one) compared to the RWD was identical to me (ordinary driver).
We have done trips to South France without losing a filling ;-) The only caveat is the stupid seam that runs down the centre of both seats which is damn uncomfortable.

Its been sold?

The advert said sold earlier today when I was looking at what number F-Type it was, however it now doesn't say that so presume it's still available!
