F Type Service History - what is everyone experiencing

I’ve seen an F type that I like and it’s very low mileage at sub 30k miles for a 2015 plate. It’s had 6 services when in fact it should have had 8 from what I can gather.

I see quite a few threads on this with low millage F types and I am just wondering the general consensus of it as we get to this age of car.

Rest of the car looks great but I’ve usually always been a stickler for FSH but with time I’ve noticed it’s not the be all end all.

Many owners didn't get their cars serviced on time during the Covid lockdown years (2020 and 2021) - personally I wouldn't be overly concerned as long as all the items that needed replacing / servicing have been done and the car is in a condition you're happy with.

Agreed - check which services were missed and whether any important items were missed (missing an oil/filter change on a very low mileage car wouldn’t bother me much but you wouldn’t want to have missed diff oil, belts etc)
After that I’d buy on condition/spec and not worry - easy to get over obsessed about FSH.

I wouldn't worry too much.

Mine has gradually slipped backwards over the years and so is a service behind where I would of expected it to be. It lost 3 months due to being on sale, another month a year later for whatever reason, and then lost another 7 months in 2019 for whatever reason I don't know. It gained a couple back when it was serviced right before I bought it.
The main thing for me was on the one where it was 7 months late, it only covered 2000 miles in 18 months so it's not like it went far without a service.

A full service history is better than a partial one, of course. However, it has to be viewed in the wider context of which services were missed and what items. Were the other services full services or just oil and filter? Was it 1 service every 18 months or missed for 3 years? It's actually is probably at 9-10 services due now, depending on month registered and if PDI is counted.
Build that into overall condition, price, what the MOT history shows, etc. then decide if it's for you.

Post the reg number and model and people on here will give you much greater insight

Agree with previous statements. IMO, at under 30K miles, the only main concern I'd have is if it's had an oil and filter change every 12 months or so and brake fluid replaced every 3 years. The twin air filter would be another consumable part that I'd like to have seen replaced twice from new along with the cabin filter.

Spark plugs should have been replaced by now as per Jaguar's schedule based on age. If not, you'd have to be prepared to spend £500+ on a full service that includes the plugs. Next year's service will be steep at around £700 as the supercharger belt will need replacing.

Rear diff oil is important.

It should be semi-translucent green colour I believe. Mine at 4yrs old at half the 64k miles looked like this. Black and thick.

I think all the service items are important. Especially looking at older cars you want the itemised online service history or paper copies if it has been to an independent.

Just my opinion.

Everyone always talks about the supercharger belt service being the big one, but the 108 month service that includes the belts and transfer case oil (AWD) is £485 vs the 96 month that does the rear diff at £607.
The MOST expensive one listed on the Jaguar site is the 120 month at £1063 which includes the gearbox oil.

I think it varies depending on the engine. For my Manual V6, the big service is the 108 months and includes belt, transmission oil, etc for £681 at Jaguar Huddersfield.

As above.
My main concern would be the overall oil change intervals on this car you're looking at.

Mine was locked down at the dealers for accident repairs for over 6 months, combined with low usage during that period, the oil change interval was 9,000 miles over two years. (My first year oil change interval was larger.)
