F TYPE R RWD DIFFERENTIAL PARTS

Hi all, sorry if this has been covered before, but being new to the clan I wondered if anyone out there knows where to get bearings for the differential to my F Type.

My car is a 550bhp R rear wheel drive. Diff is now out and stripped with specialist, and yes bearings are shot, but crown and pinion is fine. They have bought the seals for the unit but cannot get the bearings for the diff. Could someone please help with this conundrum. I am hoping there will be an independent out there, as Jaguar say these parts are on back order and they don't know when they will get more...... and yes they are happy to sell me a complete unit. SNG Barratt are stumped so no go with them.

I hopefully look forward to some positive replies.

Thanks.

Hi and Welcome - you should introduce yourself

Try a bearing supplier in your area. They'll either read the code from the side of the outer race or measure it up
I've done dozens of jobs requiring odd bearings in diffs, transfer cases, axles, etc. and all are standard sizes from somewhere

Here's an example of one I use in Lichfield https://www.millenniumgroup.co.uk/

Hi CJ, thank you for the reply, and apologies for not introducing myself. Not sure how. A bit Steve Naïve to forums.

At least you give me some hope of finding the right bearings. I assume you use these guys on a regular basis, and they are quite helpful?

I can't say a regular basis but when I need something they appear at the counter and usually pick off a shelf. If not 24 hours later.
A lot of the work of these guys is agricultural and heavy plant which eat bearings and seals and as they come from all over the world have all sorts of bearings fitted, so they stock everything

Was only an example - check places near you

Where have you gone to get the diff stripped with a specialist? Asking, because I may need that specialised in the future! Just had an oil change on my diff and he said the oil was still oil but black and manky 😔

Hi Jimmy, Suffolk Transmissions. Car not back yet as they had to find the bearings in The Netherlands and guess what still waiting to clear customs after a week sitting around in the UK. Quite a way to come from Cornwall.

Jaguar were no help. Happy to supply a new diff, but bearings strangely on back order. I understand that Jaguar actually rebuild the Diff units and ship them out. So enough bearings for them?

Just been modifying my dry clutch in my Ducati.
A new GKN bearing from Ducati £18 + p and p.

Just used this Co. R and M bearings International, £2.35 Inc p + p for the exact same item.

Can obviously recommend them for anything bearing related.
