F-Type R ownership, 1 week in...

So it's been a week to the day that I picked up my F-Type R. What can I say? I love this car! The only niggle I had was how firm the seats were. I've been adjusting the lumbar support as the previous owner seemed to have it at its maximum setting and I'm finding it much more comfortable now. No complaints about anything!

I'm still getting used to peoples looks, smiles, laughs... this car gets a lot of attention! Coming from a 1.4 TSI Scirocco, it has a bit of a step up I suppose lol. If I'm revving at lights, I can see people in their cars smiling and some even laughing. Pedestrians eyeing it up everywhere, little kids pointing, this car makes people pay attention and smile!

I'm still trying to suss out how to make it growl as it inches along like at 0:33 secs and 0;41 secs in this clip. Anyone able to tell me?

I thought you had an answer in this thread ?

If not then I think it's the usual thing once the car is rolling.
Drop it briefly into neutral and blip the throttle.
Had it been in gear it would have lurched with the throttle input.

Yes I had an answer but I wouldn't have asked again if it worked?

Thanks, I'll try that.

Maybe if you had said it hadn't worked on the original topic then I wouldn't have queried what looked like a duplicate post.

Or the fact I'm asking again meant it didn't work?

I don't really have time for the pettiness Phil but thanks anyway.

I've only made a few posts and if this is what it's like on here then I'll just delete my account.

Excuse my extreme technical ignorance.

Does shifting the ZF8 into neutral while rolling increase wear in any way? Tension bands or something like that?

I've had a couple of instances where people have asked for a rev in traffic and i've been too scared to pop her into neutral for it.

No problem to revving in neutral while stationary.

Neutral while moving at speed used to be advised against as the fluid wasn't beint pumped through the circuits, or something like that. Hence automatics shouldn't be towed any distance.

Why would you want to do that ? On youtube you see the idiots in Supercars thrashing from traffic light to traffic light in first gear in London. So impressive NOT

I had a chap on a motorbike pull up beside me in Nottingham city centre and ask me to rev it - I politely declined as I'd feel a complete dick doing it..

When I pick my 16 year old daughter up from school though, I give it a little tickle - she hates it! :D
Embarrassing dad...
