F-Type History

Unfortunately the jaguar.com online service history shows only blank pages for that VIN. Indicates originally a USA car from the VIN range probably.

It was a USA spec car and exported to the USA. It was never registered there according to Jaguar USA. It seems to have been exported again to the UAE, but when , I don’t know. An insider source at Jaguar MENA said that the car had been used by the Engineering Dept, probably in the UAE.
The first official bit of history is that in Feb 2020 a retailer, code J1159 put a warranty on it, and in late December it was first registered in Dubai with 1580km.

The same source also mentioned that there was a record of the car changing hands at 31 miles and being sold without warranty. This could have been when the car left the US.
There is mention of an export company called Amport.
So where the car has been from November 2015 when it left the factory and it being first registered in Dubai in December 2020 is a mystery.
And who is J1159? Jaguar USA don’t know, and Jaguar MENA say it’s not a UAE dealer, and the main dealer, Al Tayer Motors, say they have never seen the car. Car Vertical, and Carfax have no records. There are regular annual technical tests recorded by the UAE equivalent of thr DVLA including photographs of the car at the test station. So everything since December 2020 checks out.

Looks like it left the US on 01/02/2020 with a whole bunch of other Jaguar models.

Amport is a vehicle logistics/shipping company with depots in a number of US ports.

Here you go. Looks like originally perhaps a JLR car being Copart and no PDI. After that, same dealer supplied and serviced by the look of it, although one service missed its timing in 2021 (Covid). New rear pads at 16k, so it must have done a fair bit of braking way back in it's life.

You can use the VIN shown, to also look up the servicing schedule (what should be carried out) for each year, on the Jaguar website 'online service history' section.

Brilliant, thank you for the help

Brilliant! Perfect! Thank you!😊
Using your information , Jaguar Middle East have confirmed the car was exported by Amport in February 2020 with only 31 miles on the clock. But where it actually went to is uncertain until it turns up in Dubai in December with another 950 miles on the clock.
So I’ve emailed Cybex.in asking for more information about the Bill of lading etc. I’ve also got an email from Amport saying they won’t release information without JLR’s consent. So I’ve forwarded the email to JLR.

It very unusual to find a car that has only done 31 miles in just over 4 years, and a 1000 after 5.
It seems that the coolant Y-pipe had been replaced at less than 31 miles too. Even now the mileage is less than 12,000.
Importantly the car had not been exposed to salt and road chips. And whilst in Dubai I know the car has been kept underground out of the Sun and full heat.
Confirmation of the engine number was also a relief as UAE. Registration documents don’t normally list them for imported cars.

I've seen a couple of other cars that went nowhere for 4 years and then popped up for sale. These were display cars used for events and marketing. My guess is that they were part of a clear out when the facelift was happening, as they were no longer the current model.

I think I’d agree. The car seems to have had all the premium cosmetic options without spending anything on the performance ones. It’s even had the wind breaker deleted to aid photography. But premium extended red leather and 20” Storm black forged alloys and storm grey paint. No dynamic exhaust and no cameras, no parking sensors. It’s basically a US Premium + model V6. I haven’t figured out why the Meridian was the Surround version, but it was probably a static display car considering the mileage.

A few photos of engine bay after detailing. To be honest it was only dust and cobwebs 😂

very nice.

I really struggled with keeping the nooks and crannies clean in the bonnet and boot areas - i did keep the car under cover quite a bit but it wasn't kept in a garage and to top it all we live in a very very leafy area - well we are surrounded by large trees and the autumn was/is a nightmare.

On the black plastics and rubber I find Autoglyms bumper/trim gel to be pretty good. 👍
It’s living its best life in a heated garage now 😂

Good man, every F-Type deserves a proper garage. :)

Interesting to see this bit btw. I've never seen this SVR panel up close, thought it looked a bit odd with the silver bolts and it looks like it's just another panel screwed on top of the standard panel.

Yes can see what u mean. It’s not just fitted over existing tho as wheel arch liner is s altered to suit and has vents in to divert air out the back of this panel. Problem is it also collects little road stones which are a pain to remove 😂
