F-Type History

Thanks for all the info 👍. Have already managed to get them to swap the rear tyres and apparently they have serviced it too , but am guessing it’s only oil filter n stuff. As you rightly say , next service is a biggie with the changing of several belts n stuff so gonna start budgeting for that.
I went around the car many times and never noticed the lacquer defect myself but will check again when I go next week and def ask them to help sort if needed.
The car was actually inside the showroom at Jag and sounded really fantastic when it was started up , as you said everyone stopped and stared but not sure my neighbours will agree tho 😬.
Am getting so excited now and can’t wait to pick it up next week. Like yourself it’s going to be driven just for special occasions , road trips etc so hopefully going to be a long and very special partnership.
Thanks again for all this info , it’s is very much appreciated and I understand it must have been a very long and hard decision to sell such a wonderful car , mind you I wouldn’t knock your latest SVR , those are still very desirable. 😬

You’re very lucky to buy from an enthusiast, happy to share their experience with you, via a main dealer, providing you with the backup and buying protections.
The car looks amazing.

I was wondering what the neighbours thought of the exciting starting noise of my V6S. Apparently they love it 😍🎶

I’d maybe avoid sitting on the drive reving it too much though 😂🫣

All credit to its former owner , the car is amazing. I’m prob paying way over the odds cos it’s from Jaguar but am def happy too because it gives you that little bit of piece of mind. 👍

You will love the sound every time it starts up. On the day i took her to the dealers for it's final journey under my stewardship I got my wife to video me starting her and revving it up for last time - she was pulling her hair out (didn't like the noise of it - strange.......)

try and find the lacquer defect cos at some time you will spot it and once you know its there..........it will eat away

attached is a picture to show you where it is approximately - you paid enough so they should rectify it IMHO. Note it's nowhere near that big (50 p coin size as said but that's the area

it could be a chip's away type repair or maybe need the whole panel respraying but anyway that's for the dealer once you (if you) spot it and point it out.

other very minor points they won't sort for you but i'll let you know as you will spot them over the years.

1. rear drivers side wheel as a small surface chip on the edge where it meets the tyre about a millimetre in size - i must have kerbed it but don't ever remember doing it. I didn't consider it worth doing as you can't see it unless you put it under a microscope.
2. If it's in your budget I'd replace the front tyres at some point - OK they have 5mm + but they are over 6 years old and prob could do with replacing as they do harden over time - not urgent though.

There is still 17 months warranty on a Gyeon ceramic coating I had done

Looks like they did the 128,000 - 96 month service so that's a reasonably comprehensive service.

The next one is the biggie but it won't be needed now for 12-15 months so that's good.

My wife says you sound as fastidious as me when it comes to the little details 😂. Am part xing an Audi TTS which for its age is also in fantastic condition.
Will def get some new fronts asap and try to spot that lacquer defect so they can sort it.
They did try to upsell their own ceramic coating , think it was around £800 but I told them it looked like it had already had one at some stage and declined. Think they thought I was being cheap but I now have the proof thanks to you. 👍

They tried to upsell me loads of stuff which I didn't take - apart from the gap insurance.

I initially declined it but when I was getting quotes for the RRS SVR they were astronomical - 3-4 times more than Hatfield's - so after purchase I went back and asked if I could still have the 4 year GAP insurance upsell and they were OK.

TBH it was a bargain compared to what I was being quoted. Which was a surprise.

See you've put your own plate on the car - nice - i don't know it but can see OV17 KVK has been removed. Hope your enjoying the car and did you spot the paint blemish?

Hi there,
Yes my private plate is now installed , we picked up the car two weeks ago. To be honest it wasn’t the smoothest of starts …. On way home we had engine warning light appear so parked it up in garage and had chat with Hatfields. We took it back two days later and they provided us with a Range Rover demo until mine had been seen. I also mentioned to them that air con didn’t seem that chilly. Picked it back up on Friday and all is good 😊. Was just an oxygen sensor out but more amazing they completely changed the air con condenser and associated pipework . The total for all that came to over £1600.00. More importantly everything seems to be running perfect , had first drive out today over to Stratford and love it. Mind you my wife is not too sure about all the attention it attracts 😂

I had the Oxygen sensor changed under warranty 5 years ago - it's a common fault but relatively harmless in terms of any issues and a cheap fix - although the engine light coming on can be a bit unnerving.

I didn't think the air con was an issue TBH and was always pretty cool for me but if u got it changed all the better.

That being said I always thought the cooling seats were a bit poor on days where the outside temperature exceeded 30+ degrees - you could feel them working and they felt cold but didn't have the desired effect when outside temp was high. I had that checked around 5 years ago and was told they were operating at optimum intensity.

I can't tell you how much attention it attracts and your experiencing that now - it's a special car and I'm sure will be trouble free for you.

did they do the paint blemish / did you spot it?

You know I looked for that when we went to first pick it up and couldn’t for the life of me spot it. When it was back home and under the garage lights can now spot it. It is very very slight but may get it done once I’ve finished detailing it 😬. As I said we had a fantastic drive down to Stratford this afternoon and I couldn’t be happier with her. I will post some photos once I’ve finished but may be a while cos I’m meticulous to the point of obsession when it comes to cleaning 😂. Final thing to sort out is the In control app as they seem to be having an issue. Still that’s their problem to sort out 👍. Hope you are enjoying your new ride as much as me.

would love to see pictures of her when you've finished.

Yes really enjoying the RR SVR and i console myself that it is a lot more practical, my wife loves it and has been in it more times in the past month than the last 3-4 years of the Jag,

It also performs pretty well for a vehicle edging over 2 tonnes , but it's not an F-type SVR....

As a general comment the in-control apps from Jaguar / Land Rovers are pretty poor IMHO especially the earlier models and they haven't improved that much with the model I have now but that being said It wasn't on my radar at all when buying / owning either car.

You may struggle to get Hatfields to do that blemish now but it is so incredibly difficult to spot anyway - even though I knew it was there I had to get it in the right light and angle.

Hope u don’t mind , just thought id ask. The SVR has been back at Hatfields for 10 days now whilst they try to sort out the Incontrol system. For some reason they having issues in disconnecting it from you. Even the main Jaguar/Landrover office have tried but still no joy. Could you look to see if you have de registered it at your end please. I don’t think the garage knows what else to try at this point.

Does your system also work on non-Uk Jaguar fleet cars?
Is SAJWA6ETXH8K33282 on your system?
Trying to find info, any info, on this cars history prior to December 2020 is proving impossible.

Hatfield's rang me - yes it was still connected - hadn't logged in for years - anyway should be sorted now - hope it's going OK with that monster.

Hi there , thanks for that. Yes all sorted and got it back home after a long 2 weeks whilst it was with them trying to sort out as they said they needed it there to sort incontrol out. Absolutely love the car , it only goes out on special occasions (dry) 😂 and still getting used to all the attention it gets.

The attention never stopped with me in 7 years - amazing - filling up at a garage was like arriving on the red carpet  anyway with weather like it is ATM you can get out plenty of times. Don't forget the photo's once you've detailed.

Afternoon all

Does anyone have time to look up the history on VN17OHC, please?

Should have 7 services listed

Thank you

Here you go. Looks like originally perhaps a JLR car being Copart and no PDI. After that, same dealer supplied and serviced by the look of it, although one service missed its timing in 2021 (Covid). New rear pads at 16k, so it must have done a fair bit of braking way back in it's life.

You can use the VIN shown, to also look up the servicing schedule (what should be carried out) for each year, on the Jaguar website 'online service history' section.
