Hi SimpleR,
Just wondering if you are still doing the history check for vehicles?
If so, could you check this vehicle out please;
Feel free to PM me with the details if you want.
Many thanks
John

Hi, you cannot PM anyone until you have 5 posts.
Yes no problems, I'll PM you later this morning with any info.

Hi SimpleR, I am new and cannot message you. Are you able to check registration LP15 WXN for me?

Many thanks for your efforts.

Yes I will check later today. I've looked that one up before as it's in my search history on computer but as you can only save 50 sent messages on the forum it's not in my sent items.

Thanks simleR. I got your very helpful private message but cannot reply privately just yet. I have a couple of questions you might be able to help me with:

--- Should I be worried if the 2nd service record is missing? The dealer mentioned that it will have a new service before I pick-up
--- Also, the dealership is going to include a 2 (two) year Jaguar approved warranty. What is the best way to get evidence of this from them?

Thanks again !

Hi..as this reminds me of my fiasco, get it any kind of writing..ANY KIND. But make sure it's a company email etc. If they refuse walk away.

You will see from the links I sent you the 2nd service record is missing. It has just been serviced but that was recorded as the 4th service when in fact it should of been the 5th so also the 4th service record is missing as well.
Up to you whether a FJSH is important. Ask the supplying dealer and also see if the paperwork is in the car then it can be retrospectively added to the online history.

The 2yr Jaguar used approved warranty was withdrawn last year and replaced with a 1yr one however 2yrs can still be offered.
- Get written proof that 2yrs is being supplied
- Ask for a written copy of the 165 point check
- As with any verbal sale, follow up with a reverse confirmation email stating what was agreed.

Hi simpleR, me again! Dealership said they cannot release the 165 checkpoint document as it's for internal audit purposes. Does this ring true?

They also confirmed 2 year approved warranty via email. What evidence should I get to put my mind at ease in this point.

Thank you!

Only those cars that achieve the highest level of performance receive the Approved seal of approval in the form of the Comprehensive Multi-Point Inspection Certificate.

You don't get a copy of the 165 point check but they should give you the "certificate" as proof it has been done.

Thank you very much. Final question: I have email with confirmation of the 2 year approved Jaguar warranty coming with the car. Is there a way to check this has been updated on the Jaguar database/systems? Thank you !

Hi, in short no.

The warranty is provided and underwritten by Car Care Plan. Company number 850195.

The warranty comes with:
- £750 MOT test warranty to use on your first MOT
- Jaguar Assistance and Accident Services

You should get the MOT test voucher and a brochure for the extended warranty. I have a phone number for Jaguar Approved Warranty Administration and Claims Department of 08445738065 which you could call afterwards to check everything is in place.

This is great. Final final question: I asked the dealership for a copy of the physical service stamp book to check if they have paperwork for the missing service but they mentioned everything is online. I'm guessing there are no more old school books with stamps that should come with the car?

Thank you.

All service history is online only.

You could contact the three dealers on the service history online and see if they did service it but forgot to upload a copy. You can retrospectively upload missing records if they can be found.

Hi simpleR. I decided not to pursue the car given the gaps in service history. The car is pristine but those 2 missing service records don't sit comfortably with me. The search continues! Thanks for your information and wisdom. I learned a lot and it will help me find the right car. Let me know if I can ever help you. Thanks

Hi there, new user here about to purchase my first F-Type
The car in question was briefly mentioned on here a few times and would love to speak with the previous owner if poss. It’s a 2017 SVR on OV17KVK. Believe his nickname was backofthenet.

Oh wow , Yes that’s the car I’ve just purchased from Hatfields Jaguar Shrewsbury. Have been looking for an exceptional late plate R for ages and just happened to see this one last Saturday and fell in love 😬. Credit goes to you as it looks in fantastic condition and I just had to have it. In fact there were several ppl waiting in the showroom also to view her but luckily I had reserved it. Hopefully will be picking it up this Saturday and don’t worry it will be kept in a heated garage and looked after meticulously.

The heated garage will be a bonus for the carbon fibre - especially in the winter.

Some points that you may want to pick the dealer up on.

1. The tyre tread on all 4 tyres is excellent at 5mm + but the tyres have been on for 6.5 years - and there is an advisory about cracks in the rear tyres - might be worth trying to get a set of rears from the dealer.
2. The body work is in excellent condition but inspect the front bumper area very closely on the drivers side just below the bonnet line - there is a lacquer smudge size of a 50p piece - if you spot it your doing well - it's virtually invisible and you have to look at a very certain angle to spot it - but if u do spot it in the showroom I'd ask the dealer to sort it. I doubt they have sorted it as they would do well to spot it.
3. There is still six months left on the InControl premium subscription including tracker - make sure that is set up and all working for you in the app before leaving the dealer.

The next service is due around October (on age only as the car's only just run in really at 11700 miles) but it's quite a big one I think - doubt you will get the dealer to look at that but you could try.....

Enjoy the car - it's a beauty and very quick - and sounds wonderful with the pops and bangs especially on overrun (no software update at my request as it tones the exhaust down)

I've noticed I don't get the head turns like i used to now the car has gone and I'm driving a mere Range Rover Sport SVR - you will get them all the time when on the road :-)
