Extra speaker behind the cup holders

I was retrieving an item that fell down behind the cup holder ( don’t leave anything thin on top of the lid before opening or it dissapears!) and noticed what appears to be a small circular speaker about 1.5 inches across in the front of the storage bin, between the bin and the cup holders.

Can anyone confirm if it is in fact a speaker . If not what is it. Just thinking about it as I’m typing it might be the parking proximity warning speaker?

Can be seen if yo open the cup holder lid about 1/2 way and look down the back. Definitely look like a small speaker - about 1-1.5 inches dia. MY2016 base audio.

Just had to rush out and check mine! :)

Got more of a squarish cutout through which you can see the transmission release mechanism for recovery.

Maybe my “speaker” wasn’t put back properly when the pussycat got loaded up for the injector problem.

Will have to investigate more in the daylight next weekend.

On my car they are for the parking aid ..

but you have the base audio system so may be different ?
