Exhaust sound and acoustic cameras coming

Hi everyone,

Thought I’d post this report I came across on you tube for anyone not seen it before,

A lot has already been said on this subject in the past but it seems (according to this report) that noise levels on some cars will eventually be reduced over a period of time.

Like others here I’m already resisting by insisting my car doesn’t have any software updates to change the way it sounds but with acoustic cameras coming can we fight it forever...?

The report mentions what is happening in EU regulations over the next couple of years but what when we leave the EU, will the UK follow? I think eventually we probably will,

Like the majority off us I’m going to cling on to the F Types glorious sound for as long as possible but how long for...I need this sound in my life

Don't like the sound of those acoustic cameras!

Yep, I'll be clinging on to the F Type's glorious male voice choir for as long as possible :D

We shouldn’t have to follow EU noise regs due to Brexit.... but we will.

Hope we don’t go down the EU tax route either whereby I was reading EVO article saying Renault unlikely to bring out another hot hatch like Megan due to the €8000 tax charge when someone buys.

We’ve got the last of a generation of great sounding v8s and v6s. Potential future classics (looking at it with a positive spin).

Totally agree ;)

The bit where he says that 2024 lambos will leave the factory no louder than a Vauxhall corsa is just wrong.

I've heard some pretty loud Corsas ....

It all seems a bit sour grapes and unnecessary, given the move to electric cars will build quickly over time. The same thing goes for proliferating emission zones. When cars are all environmentally friendly we'll have to see what they come up with then. At least coronavirus has quietened the public transport fanatics for the time being.

We won't get this in South Africa. Having a car like this without not having to revel in that lovely sound would be sacrilege. Just where I stay, you just know when an F Type, 911, or RS4 passes

I think that the acoustic cameras will only be placed in places where people complain ,such as roads to car/ motorbike meets, or in certain places in London where the rich blast their Lambos etc through the posh areas as seen on youtube etc.
