I often read comments on here that people will let you out at junctions etc if you're in a f type, in my experience most times i go out i get people thinking they can take me in there kia sportage or deliberately cut me up like its some kind of achievement they got in front of me. Had one šŸ””end today in his vauxhaul astra cut me up then constantly clean his windscreen as i had the roof down in a effort to get me wet. I dispatched him as soon as the next clear section of road was available despite the speed limiter screaming stop it several times in my ear, she's calmed down and is talking to me again. I have to admit it was satisfying to see him disappearing into the distance. I mostly try not to rise to the provocation but today the deliberate windscreen washing got my goat.

Couldn’t agree more, it’s always Kia Sportage drivers that have some kind of belief that because ā€œ Sportā€ is in the name of their vehicle, it gives them the divine right to challenge us, and they try, bless them 😜

I let them come past, and the others, clearly in more of an important rush than me.

Better to have a moron driving in front of you, than behind you, where you can't control what they do..

One of the benefits of the F-type is it's obviously a very fast car and one is comfortable in not bothering to take on challenges most of the time. Well, perhaps the 2L has affected the perception.

Sorry to hear of your incident. Sadly, lots of šŸ›Ž ends on the road nowadays. Someone sold their ā€˜vert recently due to encounters with idiots. I do get goaded but I’ve nothing to prove & the long term health & care of my pride & joy takes precedent over dangerous driving. Most of the time let 5em get on with it.

Funnily a 2L F-Type tried to race me once. Couldn’t let that one go šŸ˜„šŸ‘šŸ’Ø

I like to give people the benefit of the doubt... They don't want to race you, they want to hear the glorious V6 or V8 opened up! Who wouldn't :D

Yeah I have to agree with the OP. I find that I do get a lot of positive comments and gestures etc but I very rarely go out for a drive without encountering some kind of challenge. For me it’s usually fiesta ST’s, Seat Leon’s, golfs and Audi A3’s. Surprisingly, it isn’t actually 18/19 year olds driving them, they seem to be about my age (early 30’s).

I do my best to ignore them and usually will just pull over to the side of the road, let them past and then pull back out. I find it happens most in 30/40mph roads.

On balance I get more positive reaction than negatives, so very happy with the overall perception of the car. For negatives try driving a BMW Z4 soft top - that really gets the numpties going
Agree that some folks clearly just want to see and hear it move with intent, not really race

Perhaps getting older, but I almost always leave the traffic light GP folks alone, tempting as it is sometimes. Too many sleepers in the West Midlands packing hundreds of hp and as a result lots of patrols given we have for several years had swathes of 'quick' roads covered by High Court Injuntions against cruising or anything speed, racing, etc. related.

They’re all in ugly cars and want to get where they’re going as fast as possible so they can get out of their monstrosities! I’m quite happy to spend extra time in my Jag as it’s a great place to be. If they use their washers (used to see that a lot when I rode motorbikes) I just think of it as a free windscreen wash!

I've only had one 'encounter' and that was with a Tesla of some sort. It actually just annoyed me as their silly antics ended up holding me up as I wasn't going to play their game of "wait until you get alongside me and watch me floor the pedal, leaving you looking silly in the overtaking lane", so just backed off and left them to their own devices.

I have to say, though, I don't normally even look to see if people are 'wanting to play', I go out to enjoy my own time in my car and couldn't give a fig what other people get up to in their cars. If somebody wants to follow me at 'pace' on country roads then they'll quickly find that I won't be playing their game and will slow down to let them past as soon as it's safe to do so.
