Engine corrosion 2018 p340

Hello, I just got into my first f type (2018 cabrio p340 v6 with 60k km) and after reading about the water ingress issues I wanted to get your thoughts on my situation.

So the engine seems to be a newer version since it has these rubber things covering the injectors (first pic) and although I have no pics of the injectors I did lift one rubber cover, checked inside and it looked good, no water around the injectors.

However as you can see on the pictures there is some corrosion on the engine and gearbox casing.

I plan to get a twisty camera to inspect the space below the supercharger and other areas you suggest. Please note I don’t have a workshop.

Please suggest any specific area that needs to be checked and let me know your thoughts on the images below.

Looks to be in good condition, nothing at all to worry about.

That kind of surface corrosion is normal and harmless. There are some other threads about this on here and also on the US forum if I recall correctly so I suggest that you look them up.

All the bolt and screw heads bar one minor bracket one (bottom right, second photo) look in excellent condition.
The rubber thingies you refer to are on all cars - the new additions are rubber water deflectors that are higher up, with the plastic charge cooler cover.

For an island surrounded by Salt water, it's not uncommon for this to happen to unprotected aluminium. That said, it looks a little excessive for a 4 year old car whos engine is covered from underneath with a very tight fitting undertray and of course the bonnet on the top.

I would be concerned with the area circled, this is where the coolant lines can fail and that does accelerate the rot of the cam cover screws and injectors:
