Egregious Price Increase of Warranty.

On the subject of extended warranty, I was astonished that my renewal quote has gone up from £1,284 last year to £1,656. When I queried the price the renewals person simply said the prices have increased and reflect the age of the car.

This is a 30% increase!

There was a thread on this last week which I contributed on, but seems to have been removed. Mine doubled within one year and they wouldn't offer a mileage limited warranty. Awful customer service and just another push away from Jaguar

Frustrating when we also have a new Toyota Supra which comes with a 10 year warranty. Shows you the difference and confidence in relability and expected repair costs.

No-one is forcing you to take that warranty - if you can find better cheaper, go ahead. Or put aside the premiums and accumulate them over the years to cover any unforeseen occurrences, like I have - I'm about 6 grand ahead so far. It's all down to your aversion to risk.

I ended up taking it out this year just in case faults with the headlights on the facelift model started to rear their ugly head - as it felt like about 4 or 5 years before the DRL failures on the previous design started to really start showing more frequently. If nothing rears its ugly head, and nothing gets picked up during the next service, then it will almost certainly be my last year at these rates.

Just extended my original with Jaguar. Car went in as the rear quarter chrome surrounds were coming away; repaired under original warranty. They added a £300 charge for MPI which is the pre warranty check. When I pointed out the car had already got the extended warranty the month before the dealer went into a huddle then apologised for the error.....£300 remved from invoice.
