Diagnostic tester recommendations

Battery is beginning to show signs of time to change it (low battery warning after not driving for two weeks), debating if to put into garage to do, or do it myself, if the latter I think I’d like a diagnostic tester should it need to be programmed to the car.

What testers are people using and would recommend?

I assume you aren't using a battery conditioner? If not, have you considered the CTEK MXS 5.0 which many on here recommend?

I used to get the odd battery warning after not driving my car for two weeks but since I started using the CTEK it's been absolutely fine.

I have the CTEK and used it to charge the car after the warning.

This is the first time I’ve had the low battery warning, car is over seven years old so think battery may be due to be changed, just trying to be prepared if I get low battery warning again.

If you decide to change the battery, no need for any diagnostic tool, just swap over the battery. The BMS will sort itself out after a few runs. Perhaps need to reset a couple of things like windows.

However if you want a diagnostic tool this is what I use:
iCarsoft LR V2.0 Land Rover & Jaguar MULTI - System. Costs about £125.

Can get a higher version V3 & Pro but this does all I've ever needed across several Jaguar and RR's and does have BMS reset in it.

Understood. Have you been using the CTEK regularly prior to the low battery warning?

Not regularly, only in the winter and if the car has been stood for a few weeks, car is not garaged so putting on charge is slightly inconvenient but not a major issue. Will charge more regularly before making a decision on a new battery.
Thanks for your comments.

Thanks, the iCarsoft looks like a popular choice. I will look at both the V2 and V3, but doubt it will get used often, it was more a thought of having available should a battery change throw up a problem, interesting you say it will reset itself after a few runs.

My battery is almost as old as yours and I haven't experienced the low battery warning for quite a while, and that was when it stood unused for 3 months while I was self-isolating. I tend to pop it on the CTEK every month or so for an overnight charge and so far - so good!

It is the first time I’ve experienced a low battery warning after two weeks, and like you have left it for longer periods without an issue. I will monitor it for the next few weeks / months and use the CTEK and hope that’s sufficient, but its useful to know if a new battery does / does not need coding to the car should the low battery warning becomes a regular occurrence.
Thanks for you input.
