Anyone know where the DAB aerial cable is routed?<div><br></div><div>Getting quite bad reception in places - the same run as I did in the XK and it never dropped out the whole trip. </div><div><br></div><div>

Hi guys<br />I always thought the aerial was in the tailgate glass as is common for many cars these days. Having said that I've had no problems with DAB reception & use it all the time, unless I'm listening to other music sources/farting speakers/the exhaust. Or sitting on the southbound M5 in the Bristol area in a traffic jam & watching snippets of a dvd film. I don't recall ever having used the regular FM bands in this car at all. Given that you are both based in different areas of the UK it's obviously not a problem that could be attributed to location so it may be worth asking your local dealers to investigate.

Hmm .. I lose the DAB signal going up and down the M5 between the M4/5 junction and the services north. Darn.

I always thought that roof fin thing was the DAB aerial (on the Coupe obviously).<br /><br />Perhaps the poor reception is a soft top issue. <edited><editID>Jagalot</editID><editDate>2014-11-06 20:22:25</editDate></edited>

The soft top aerial is located in the plastic boot lid, you can see it on a cold morning, as the temperature difference shows through he morning dew. But as Jagalot says, the coupé aerial is on the roof so should not be a real problem. <div>The aerial cable will be screened so the routing should not make much of a difference, but lets be honest DAB reception in the UK is general sh*te, as soon as you step out of the citys or if you try to listern to anything other than radio 4 !!!</div><div><br></div><div>JM</div>

Update on this : The garage said they tuned the gain to get better reception but really not a lot better.<div><br></div><div>Is anyone else running the Coupe down the M5 towards Bristol - does it cut out around the services between Thornbury and Bristol M4/M5 junction?</div><div><br></div><div>The dealer's service manager told me it was just a wear DAB signal - bit of crap really as my XF and 2 x XK's never had an issue - nor does the VW Golf.</div>

I've run through there a few times, don't remember noticing any DAB dropout in my convertible - I certainly had _some_ stations. I do find the DAB can't cope when I change areas sometimes, check what region you are set to by default too.<div><br></div>

For the coupe, my manual says:<div><br></div><div><div>Note: The DAB antenna is located in the <span style="line-height: 1.4;">Luggage compartment lid. Metallic items (e.g., </span><span style="line-height: 1.4;">laptops) placed on top of the luggage or in close </span><span style="line-height: 1.4;">proximity to the luggage compartment lid, may </span><span style="line-height: 1.4;">affect DAB reception.</span></div></div><div><span style="line-height: 1.4;"><br></span></div><div><span style="line-height: 1.4;">I can also see the word 'Antenna' written on the top of the rear window (in the same colour as the heating elements).</span></div>
