Hi There, I ordered my F Type at the end of June having traded in my XF and as a result I am currently waiting on Delivery which is scheduled for the 18-09-2013. The anticipation is building day on day :-)<div><br></div><div>I have ordered a V6S in Salsa Red with the Cyclone silver wheels, chrome pack, red brake calipers, sports seats in black with red stitching and the middle Meridian audio system, plus the must have sports exhaust switchable option !! <img src="http://www.ftypeforums.co.uk/images/converted_files/smileys/smiley4.gif" border="0" alt="Big smile" title="Big smile" /></div><div><br></div><div>I first got interested in the F Type when the CX16 prototype was shown to the public about two years ago, I put my name down on the waiting list as a result, but when the car was available for pre-order I was a little put-off by the price, mainly due to the pictures making the car look more BMW Z4 sized, and with a price tag of £70k it did not seem like good value having not seen the car in the flesh. However, I got my first opportunity to drive a V6S from my local Jaguar dealing in May. The test drive dismissed my first thoughts of price and size / value, as the car was an absolute blast, I did not want to get out. It gave me the same buzz as riding my motorcycle. 3-4 weeks in negotiation on price and specification and then I ordered.</div><div><br></div><div>should look something like this, Cannot wait !!</div><div><img src="http://www.ftypeforums.co.uk/images/converted_files/uploads/78/jag.JPG" height="295" width="700" border="0" /><br></div><div><img src="http://www.ftypeforums.co.uk/images/converted_files/smileys/smiley1.gif" border="0" alt="Smile" title="Smile" /><br></div>

When you say 3-4 weeks negotiation on price, does that mean you managed to get a discount, or did they throw in some of the options or just give you a better part exchange? I'm still doing the sums and struggling to justify going for a V6 S unless there's room to compromise a bit from Jaguar...

Hi OneJag, I managed to negotiate a lower APR on the finance element of the deal 4.9% in place of the 7.9% offered, on £30k of finance this made £5k difference. With regard to which one to go for, I had the same concerns with the price, I was originally going for a V6, however I wanted the sports exhaust and top end leather with 20" wheels, buy the time you included these options it added £6k to the base price, where as on the V6S it only added £3.9k plus you get the adjustable suspension, Limited slip diff and the extra horsepower, having driven both, I could feel the difference, therefore I thought that if I am going to layout £68k for the V6 (which included all the options I wanted), I did not want to think that I had compromised and then regret it, so I paid the extra £4k for the same spec V6S. 5 weeks to go !! <img src="http://www.ftypeforums.co.uk/images/converted_files/smileys/smiley1.gif" border="0" align="middle" />

Thanks for the info. I think you've made the right call given the difference by that point. I'm borrowing a V6 S for 24 hours next week to try and convince myself I can commute in it every day and just have one car!<br /><br />Hope you get your car while there's still a bit of sunshine around!

I've had the V6S for three weeks and drive it everyday. It's a fabulous car. I have the 20 inch tires (turbine rims) and it drives beautifully. Depending on my mood or agenda, top down, sport mode, active exhaust or straight drive mode no exhaust to hear myself on telephone. Surprisingly after feeling I needed to drive it exclusively with the top down, these past few days I drove it with top up, great experience too...very pleased....jjd
