Ctek Indicator Panel

Bought a Ctek comfort indicator panel (as photo) to make it simpler to connect my Ctek charger, I’ve got no problem with how to connect it to the bus bar, but I can’t find a way to remove the left hand side boot panel in the boot (above the battery) so I can cut a hole in the panel to fit the indicator panel.

I don’t want to just cut the side panel trim in-situ as I’ve noticed there are some electrical cables behind it, has anyone done this and can suggest the best way to do this.

Many thanks, I have seen that video but it doesn’t explain how to safely cut the hole through the boot trim panel to fit the indicator panel, as there are cables behind the trim and I don’t want to damage them.

I fitted one a couple of weeks ago. Had the same concern so used the Jaguar workshop location for there equivalent conditioner. The photo should provide a good point of reference. I used a 8v rotary tool to cut an accurate aperture. The cutting wheel made a very sharp accurate cut. Behind the panel was at least 2” space but you are correct there are cables behind.
I was then able to use the fuse access panel to assist in feeding the cable under the trim down to the bus bar. I clipped the cables as per the Jaguar method.

Now all fitted and working, many thanks for the tip with the rotary tool, I forgot I had a Dremel multi tool so used that and was reasonable easy to do.

Can I ask where you got the comfort indicator panel, I have found on Amazon but only shows front panel not sure if I need to buy the lead to connect to the car separately
What charging unit are you using I was looking at MXS 5.0 unit

Hi Billy

I got the comfort indicator from Amazon it comes with a long lead so you can connect it to the bus bar. There’s a picture of it on my first post.

I also got the Ctek MXS 5.0 from Amazon it comes with leads to connect it to the comfort indicator, but you might also need the Ctek 2.5m extension cable depending how you want to set it up? I’ve got my charger fitted to the garage wall so I needed the extension cable from the charger to plug into the comfort indicator, and it’s perfectly safe to close the tail gate on top of the cable as long as you keep it away from the locking mechanism.
