Considering R 75 Convertible KT23 ZCF

Been perusing F Type R's and think the 75 would be my preferance. It has done over 12k miles though in a year so would this car have been a demonstrater maybe?

I know it will have the remainder of the warranty but what would be the main things to look for? I'm guessing tyres would be fairly worn.

My tyres needed replacing at 10,000 miles so, IME, that car should be on its second set.

Car 84794
I can find no information on it, other than it was prepared and ran by C Walton on behalf of Jaguar for first 12 months so it could of been used for anything Jaguar related (managers car, demostrator, rental car, fen end, track car, test car, magazine car, etc).

These cars are ran for 9 to 12 months, serviced by C Walton and then go to private JLR auction before a dealer buys it.

Thank you very much for the information.

Is a car that is owned by JLR usually best avoided? Is C Walton a dealer?

C Walton is a logistics company, I understand they handled Jaguars fleet of cars ( ex management cars, press cars, experience day cars etc etc) I have added the categories the cars may come under, but Jaguar don’t / won’t say for sure which category a particular car is from, a few things I learned with much help from the forum and a little previous experience :-

Ex Jaguar management cars, some forum members have picked up really great cars, great deals on price etc etc, some others (me) ….... :o
Ex Jaguar management cars = cars used by Jaguar employees and family members, some cared for and looked after some “it’s not my car anyway” attitude, as mentioned returned to C Walton serviced and “prepared” for auction (closed JLR auction so not open to anyone) dealers buy them from a report I suspect normally without seeing them once they are delivered to dealerships they sell what they bought be that good, bad or whatever, the dealer has not “handed picked” these cars

Ex corporate repurchase and Ex Jaguar internal fleet, ……… for me enough said, I have been told both these categories cars will be VAT qualifying which should show up on dealer back room paperwork could always ask dealer to see that paperwork.

Good luck with search, fantastic cars plenty for sale hunt with your head not your heart

When they go through closed auction they have one of three descriptions.

1) Ex Corporate Repurchase
A Jaguar/Land Rover vehicle previously owned by a vehicle rental company or allocated to a fleet available to JLR partners.
Possible multiple users.

2) Ex Jaguar Internal Fleet
A Jaguar/Land Rover vehicle previously allocated to a fleet available to JLR customers and partners.
Possible multiple users.

3) Ex Jaguar Management
A Jaguar/Land Rover vehicle previously allocated to an individual employee.

C Walton bought by Cox Automotive back in 2020. My own car was initially with “Paragon Automotive” same business operation as C Walton but owned by BCA. Quite a number of nearly new F types seem to come to market via this route I.e a year or so with them then off to closed auction and re-appear via JLR dealer or specialist. My car had 3000 miles when sold via dealer at 15 months, I bought at 2.5 years with 9000 miles and the car has been absolutely fine.

Thanks for all the info, much appreciated.

An ex Jag management car would be ok then if it’s just been used my one careful owner. I have asked the sales guy but he might not want to tell me even if he knows. If it’s been used as a track experience car then it would probably have had to have some paintwork to the front end.

It’s knowing if one careful owner that’s the thing, as family members can use the car it could make it one owner but many drivers “having a go”.
As for track experience cars I think paintwork to front end would be least of my worries 💨💨💨 if you know what I mean :o

Track cars tend to get through rear brake pads because of the torque vectoring by braking. Typically a set of rear pads last 30-40k however we have seen on here, cars used on tracks, tend to only last 8-15k so check if it has had rear pads.

I’m waiting for the sales guy to get back to me which will be tomorrow now. If or when I do go and see the car which is a little difficult at the moment because I had a TIA 3 weeks ago and was told I’m not allowed to drive for 28 days and can’t drive for another week, but if I do see it how would I know if the rear pads have been replaced, is there tell tale signs?

Would the car have had its first service? I don’t know the intervals with Jaguars.
Servicing is annual or miles whichever sooner. It’s a June 23 car so the Jaguar OSH should show at least one new car inspection and its first service. Although it’s not unusual to see a Jaguar fleet car have its first service a few months later or just prior to sale. Ask the dealer for the vin no and you can look it up yourself.

I am going to see this car tomorrow and have been told that it is an ex demo car. I asksed about tghe condition as it would have had lots of different people driving it and he said it was in excellent condition, we'll see.

On the advert for the car it says Secure Tracker, is this a tracker installed by Jaguar from new and is it a case of taking over the tracker subscription?

Good luck viewing car, for me just be careful what the dealer is telling you, maybe take with a pinch of salt they are sales men at the end of the day paid to sell and possibility getting a bonus to sell they are not your friend.
I am somewhat biased due to experience, but would like to point out as previously posted the car was registered and ran by C Walton (the K registration gives this away) a dealer demonstrator car are registered by the dealer and will have dealer as first owner not C Walton. This may well have been a Jaguar demonstrator car what ever that actuality is 🤷🏻‍♂️

Is there a way of getting the VIN from the reg in order to check the original build spec sheet? I can always ask him tomorrow but was trying to get as much info as possible straight away.

Seems it has had a replacement windscreen then.

Sent VIN to you on a private message. However the dealer can provide a build sheet and everything logged on their system if they chose too.
