Hi, <br><br>This is the first time I have owned a car where I care about getting the exhausts looking clean <img src="http://www.ftypeforums.co.uk/images/converted_files/smileys/smiley1.gif" border="0" alt="Smile" title="Smile" />. They do get quite sooty. Can anybody recommend what i should use to clean them? <br><br>Thanks.<br>

I've used Autoglym Metal polish on all of my exhausts and it works a treat. You can probably even use the Engine Cleaner as well, though I've not tried.<div><br></div><div>http://www.autoglym.com/products/products/metal-polish</div><div><br></div><div>http://www.autoglym.com/products/products/engine-and-machine-cleaner</div>

Try Autosol. Been using it for years with no problems. Around a fiver per tube but lasts for ages.<div><br><div><br></div></div>

Just given mine it's first clean and the only thing I had to hand for the exhaust was Duraglit silver polish, worked a treat!<br />Steve.

It's not at all sad if it makes us happy. <img src="http://www.ftypeforums.co.uk/images/converted_files/smileys/smiley1.gif" border="0" align="middle" /> <edited><editID>steveh</editID><editDate>2016-04-27 12:55:16</editDate></edited>

Personally I think they look fantastic, even although everyone goes thats sad..they do say those exhausts look awesome

<blockquote>all my mates think im sad...all i said was that i was polishing the exhaust on the car</blockquote>
<div>They're just jealous because they don't have an F-Type</div><div><br></div>

I don't use any polishes but I always have my exhaust clean, still has that nice shine when I wipe off the black sooty stuff. <div>The exhaust pipes are just the DBs, can't think of any other sports car with good looking exhaust.</div>

Time for an exhaust photo. <img src="http://www.ftypeforums.co.uk/images/converted_files/uploads/699/exhaust_2.jpg" height="525" width="700" border="0" />

Ok - lets have one more.....<img src="http://www.ftypeforums.co.uk/images/converted_files/uploads/699/exhaust.jpg" height="397" width="700" border="0" />

WTF!!! I just got blinded by your exhausts Big Bri!!! Have to turn down the brightness down on the lap top to see it properly<img src="http://www.ftypeforums.co.uk/images/converted_files/smileys/smiley36.gif" border="0" alt="LOL" title="LOL" />

<div>OMG! Just realised you have the inside of the exhaust shiny as well! Oh dear, I feel dirty next to yours<img src="http://www.ftypeforums.co.uk/images/converted_files/smileys/smiley36.gif" border="0" alt="LOL" title="LOL" /></div><div><img src="http://www.ftypeforums.co.uk/images/converted_files/uploads/417/IMG_3626.JPG" height="525" width="700" border="0" /> </div>

well .. this is what I will be doing every week once I get mine<br />that is for sure .. guaranteed <br /> <img src="http://www.ftypeforums.co.uk/images/converted_files/smileys/smiley31.gif" border="0" align="middle" />

Autosol is also really good for cleaning stainless steel kitchen sinks <img src="http://www.ftypeforums.co.uk/images/converted_files/smileys/smiley36.gif" border="0" align="middle" />

Stick some Gtechniq C5 on your exhaust tips and you'll never need to polish them again... Any black deposits will just wash off easily <img src="http://www.ftypeforums.co.uk/images/converted_files/smileys/smiley20.gif" border="0" align="middle" />

<div><br></div><div>Must tell the wife about that one.....(or on reflection - maybe not !!)<img src="http://www.ftypeownersclub.co.uk/forum/smileys/smiley18.gif" border="0" alt="Ouch" title="Ouch" /></div>

Many car products are great around the house, glass cleaner and rainex for shower screens, autosol for sinks, wheel brush for tall vases etc... helps to justify the purchases <img src="http://www.ftypeforums.co.uk/images/converted_files/smileys/smiley2.gif" border="0" align="middle" /><br /><br />I did draw the line at using my DA for floor polishing, bought a cheap halfrauds one for that <img src="http://www.ftypeforums.co.uk/images/converted_files/smileys/smiley17.gif" border="0" align="middle" />
