changing mirror covers

Did it on my XE having tried to squeeze past an illegally parked lorry tail lift and expect it to be the same.
This is some time ago now, but to the best of my memory it goes like this...
Electrically move the mirror glass fully in and then hold the outer edge and gently prise the mirror off its ball joint.
Find the outer plastic clip and prise it out - the housing comes off outwards and upwards.
No doubt much easier if you find a better video - maybe search for XE and not just F-Type.

Thanks for the extra info, pretty much as I thought as I reviewed the TOPIX instruction manual for this .. I have some new mirror covers and bonnet vents to use (my retirement present) so hopefully the overall final look will look good on my F Type .. anyway off to the pharmacy for some forum medication :lol:

HELP!!!!!
Did as per Jaguar (TOPIX) instructions , tipped glass down and in , flipped it out, released hidden cover clip and cover came off easily , located new cover and it clipped in perfectly , lined up mirror glass and clipped it back in , ignition on and try adjust it back and it will NOT adjust up, somethings clicking so motors running , it will go side to side but NOT up???? Don't want force it too much but it feels solid?
Removed glass and cover again but cannot see what has happened???

Well firstly don't panic and end up breaking something - we've all been there.
It sounds like it is clicking because it is already at maximum up tilt - I'm not sure if it's possible to move it accidentally with the mirror off.
Maybe take the mirror off again and have a look to make sure the ball socket is pointing level.
Steady as you go and you'll sort it I'm sure.

Panic averted, removed passenger side mirror glass to see what difference was, the ball/radiused part right at the top 12oclock had somehow gone a fraction too far and just popped out of the socket at the top, levered the socket up slightly with little screwdriver and it went back in,( when they are correct you can actually move the mirrors manually quite easily if anyone wonders), levelled it up before popping mirrors back in.
Fitted new covers easily job completed , time for cup of tea
