Hi all,

I’ve dropped my car off to these lads

For a thorough going over with gtechniq products inside and out. The car is covered in swirls which I find really annoying, especially when I clean it. Plus, coming from a Mazda MX5, I find the jag takes a lot longer to clean! Hopefully the coatings live up to their claims and washing will be much easier :D

It’s due back to me Thursday so I’ll get some photos uploaded, before and after.

Ps is it ok to link to the detailers ?

Do you know what coatings they will apply? Crysal Serum most likely or Crytal Serum light? and with Exo topping?

I did CS Light with Exo, (CS is pro detailers only) and the water just falls off!

I'm sure you will enjoy, make sure you follow the washing guidelines to keep the coatings at Max.

Yeah I went for the crystal serum ultra with EXO4. It’s not cheap so I’ll definitely be a good boy and follow their washing instructions to the letter 😁. Cheers for the advice Philskill

Just got mine back having Gtechniq Crystal Serum applied. Paint needed a lot of correction as it seemed that the last owner used a Brillo pad to wash it.

I got Perfexion ceramic paint coating done when I purchased the vehicle new a couple of weeks ago. Can't compare it to other ceramic coatings as have not done before, but to date I have found the dirt splodges I have gotten on the car have come off relatively easily but time will tell.

The black looks brilliantly finished by the way, as does the blue.

Will give it a clean on Saturday and take a pic otherwise this is one in the garage but hard to see properly in the lighting.15F25C77-FA6E-460A-BE5B-99C9B47F00E7.jpeg

Hi Parfect and Hammers,
When you talk about paint correction, is it only getting rid of swirls or are they able to loose small stone chips. The finish looks fantastic but does it ever magnify any other imperfections?

Normally, paint correction deals with swirls but leaves stone chips alone. Some might offer extra work to deal with chips, often by taking the car to a spray shop.

It all depends on the chip, each chip has to be dealt with separately, some will look better some will look worse if not dealt with, Detailers may offer to touch up before correction to make a reasonable improvement, or it may require more paint shop skills, but it needs to be discussed beforehand, obviously a good detailer should inspect the car and bring it up with you before proceeding, or advise if something comes up during the process like poor respray work.

So just had a video back from the detailer confirming it’s ready for collection tomorrow after my ceramic coating and can’t wait!!!

What do you all think?
