CarPlay issues

Hi all

I noticed yesterday my 2019 f-type doesn't seem to be playing ball with my iPhone on CarPlay.

I plugged it in (usb c to usb a cable) and it seemed to be "reconnecting" intermittently, I thought it could be the usb port so switched to the other one and the same happened.
The carplay interface would relaunch on the infotainment every minute or so
When my phone is plugged in to a different car this does not happen, which makes me think the usb ports could be faulty/broken?

Is it something I should get booked into the workshop to look at?

I have a large trip coming up next month (over 2k miles) and really need carplay working!

Hi and welcome, check the software version on the head unit (somewhere in settings). Loads of car play issues were fixed with updated software.

Version S22a I think is the latest on the ICT Pro unit.
Will look something like S22A_22.32.4-928505
 
Hi, I’m having exactly the same issues however not necessarily when the phone is connected. The unit has been resetting on me - not all of the time but when it starts it doesn’t seem to want to stop.
However - today when I was on CarPlay, it kept disconnecting and when I got to my destination there was a warning on my phone saying ‘moisture / liquid detected in the charging port so charging stopped’. I plugged the phone into charge in the house and it’s fine
Now I’m not sure if water has got into the system somewhere and created a short?
Checked my software recently and it was updated on 17/12/22 - S22A_22.32.4-928505 - and no update available.

Would e really interested to hear if anyone else has had or is having this problem aswell as us

Just checked, my car was updated in January to that version.

I got a new phone in March, but before that my old phone was occasionally saying water detected and stop itself from charging through the car.
The new phone doesn’t have that message but just “reboots” carplay as I mentioned.

Such a strange issue!
Could convertible be more susceptible to this?
